Hey, does anyone use a third-party website or application to schedule tweets on Twitter? One that they like, that is? :-)

I've been using TweetLater.com, but I'm not sure it's the best one. It definitely has its limits, one of which is how it wouldn't post my tweets today because it couldn't "authenticate" me.

Much obliged,
Tanna

    Try Hootlet.com

I've messed with them a little bit. They even have a drag-and-drop bookmarkelt that you can put in your FF bookmarks bar.

I have started using Home - Twitter Scheduler/Tweet Scheduler - Twitter Client - Twitter Calendar - Twitter Business Tools - twAitter.com and it seems to be going good. Their free too (at least for now)

They allow you to send a message in the future, but also have that same message be sent several times (like everyday at 8am), I like that feature a lot.

I don't tend to like to autotweet, I prefer just doing them at the time, but I have found that there are certain days/times when more people will see them, and also there are time zones to consider, so I do sometimes retweet something so that the maximum number of people see it, but I had my own app written that I use to do it.

@joel... thanks for the link to Twaitter.

I'm not very keen on ponying up my twitter PASSWORD to an unknown app-provider, however.

I read the "About Us" and poked around the site. I see no particular reason to distrust them. I'm just not so keen about giving my login details for one app to another site.

Let us know how it goes. Hope they don't hijack you or that their system doesn't get compromised with everyone's log-in details.

I've bookmarked it. It looks interesting. And the "coming soon" RSS manager looks promising.

    Thanks again for the link.

Has anyone used stumbleupons Su.pr - Drive More Traffic with Your Short URLs!

I think it is only in BETA but it is a very cool tool. You can use it to shorten URL's and schedule tweets.

It also keeps stats for you - it keeps track of clicks and retweets. Also has some cool reporting features - charts on your tweets clicks, followers, and time your tweets get most exposure. I am not 100% sure of all its features yet since it is new, but I think it also submits your tweet into stumbleupon.

      Hi Joel O and TheNightOwl,

This is Ryan from Twaitter.com. I'm glad you have taken the time to check us out. We are working every day to provide new and improved features. One of those features is an OAuth implementation where you don't have to share your login info. A lot has to be rewritten in order to make this work though, so we expect a launch by no earlier than 9/1/09.

In the mean time, I assure you that the login credentials are as safe as they can be behind firewalls and the values are 128 bit encrypted. We hope you can feel comfortable using our services.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for features. We'll be happy to help.

      Thank You,

      Ryan Bell

I was just about to say that I haven't had any problems with Twaitter yet... but since Twaitter themselves spoke, I don't have much to add.

It's always nice to see the people/company themselves respond.

OK, I've set up FutureTweets, and they seem OK, but limited. I'm going to try out the others as well.

New Question: Does anyone know of a Twitter tool that will help me find out which the people I'm following on Twitter are *not* following me? I'm following almost 200 people who are not following me, and after 2000, Twitter won't let me follow any more people, so I need to prune out some people who aren't following me back.

Seems like there should be a way to do this with TweetDeck, which I already use, but that information seems to be well hidden.

          Many thanks, and Happy Monday!
          Tanna

P.S. Sam, if you can find a way to contact TweetLater in such a way that they will respond back, I'd love to hear it. The only way I can find to troubleshoot problems with their site is by going through their forum. So far I've found no helpful info.

With so many Twitter third-party sites out there, it's a better use of my time to find a new site to work with than spend a lot of time searching a forum for answers that may not be there, you know?
