Hello

Ive never attempted adsense. I was thinking of registering some kw domains and target a few medium cost keywords like $2 or so. Then create a content rich site and populate it with adsense ads. Possible use word press and pickup a wso with a adsense wordpress theme in it or somethng. Is there still much money in adsense or have I missed the boat? LOL I would only want each site to make dollars each day, like 5 or 10 bucks each day would be my aim, 10 bucks a day for one domain would be great as I could make 10 or so to make 100 dollars a day income, which would feed the family (wher I live anyhow!!)

So is that doable and where should I go from here, are there any recomended good wsos on adsense?

thanks very much and have a great day/night everyone

  • It is very doable. If you have access to google's keyword tool, not the external one - the one within your adwords account, you will be able to see the average cost per click for each keyphrase in your niche.

If you use that tool the right way, you will be able to optimize each page according to keyword, using the keywords with the highest paying average click.

      Charles,

      Brilliant!

Is this one of those things everybody knows and I'm just the last to find out or did you just reveal a well kept secret.

      Whatever it is,
      Thanks!

For sure a good idea to target higher paying keywords. I see so many people not making much with adsense because they hit very low paying keywords or don't have traffic.

I think it is a chicken and egg thing. If you target high paying keywords, competition is stiff and it is harder to rank. Less competitive keywords have low search count and low CPM.

Having said that, I have had success in targeting low competition keywords in high paying niches. May be you can try that.

So what method do u do for determining low competition? DO you put " around kw term and under a certain figure would be deemed low competion? WHat figure do you go for? Under 50,000, under 30000? I ALWAYS get confused as all the different people say different things and it turns my head into mush!

    Hi Charles
Hmmmm, well I was on the keyword page above, and when I select the collumn to show "estimated cpc" it comes up with all the prices, without being logged in to adwords. So will it show different prices if I am logged in? To be honest I didnt really notice there was two different versions.

    Hi Ron
What price keywords do u think, do u think I should be going after higher than $2 ones? Wont these be harder for my site to place for and hence harder to get clicks on? Its like a double edged sword or something......

I think Geo hit on a great way to go about it. Might take more time, with the research, but worth it in the end.

I am no adsense expert, I only see SO many people complain they are not making anything with adsense and so often it turns out they targeting very low paying keywords, even very saturated keywords and by the time they get their cut, it's pennies.

Well that and the other big problem, most do not get enough traffic to make much with the program. That will be the other thing you'll need to get good at, getting traffic.

    Justin,

It's by no means too late to make some money with Adsense. You goal of $100 a day is quite doable and there are many folks who make a lot more than that.

As Geolt7 said, check out low competition keywords in high-paying markets. I've generally find that if I target keywords with about 80,000 -100,000 or less competing pages in google (searching with double quotes), I can get a top 10 for a majority of those keywords fairly easily.

By the way, there are some very useful adsense related threads in this forum. There's one titled "6 Months Later: $300 Daily w/Adsense (Lessons Learned)" that should get you some great ideas (sorry, I can't post links yet...just do a search.)

    Best,
    Mike

I used to make a killing back in the day on "private jets" as a keyword.

but I haven't really done much at all with adsense for atleast 3 years. lol. Maybe that keyphrase is still profitable though....
