Successful format for a health related website/blog?

I believe I asked too many questions with my last post, so I'll try to keep them more focused.

Ideally my natural health website would include articles, a blog, links to my ebooks, other resources, a section where I offer personal coaching, and possibly (or eventually) a place for a community to gather (would a facebook group suffice?).

If I attempt put these elements together on my own it won't look good

Can someone possibly give me an example(s) of some similar websites that you find properly balanced and engaging? After all, I'm a scientist/health coach, not a marketer or website designer.

With some examples or ideas, I will at least know how to explain what I want to a qualified web designer/programmer.

Thanks!

This one seems a bit less "genuine" (because a lot of information isn't shared freely), but if this guy is selling his programs, he must be making bank.

Between this and the above website, which do you think is better and why?

I think the best answer you are going to get is your best bet is to test and see what works best, no one will be able to give you a definitive answer. The other option is to look at websites in the same niche and see what they are doing to give you an idea.
