Traffic Tutorial: Use Free Document Upload Sites to Get Passive Traffic

What do I mean by passive traffic? Low level traffic that persists over a long period of time. Compare this with a huge surge of visitors and close to zero visits after that.

What I like about this traffic building technique is SCALABILITY. You can keep repeating it with different docs to get more and more streams of passive traffic.

Step 1: Produce a book that addresses a key NEED in your niche
Normal approach: Write it yourself or hire a writer
Shortcut: Use dictation software to dictate the book or use PLR
Important: Make sure the book is NICHE-specific and addresses key niche needs

Step 2: Convert the book into PDF
Shortcut: LibreOffice has a .doc Export feature to PDF

Step 3: Get a list of free document upload sites
Normal approach: Do a fresh search on Google
Shortcut: Search for blogs that list these
Examples:
List of High PR PDF Document Sharing Websites | Siteber
Top 20 High PR Dofollow Document Sharing Sites List
There are many others
NOTE: You have to check each site because many of these blog 'list' posts often have dead sites listed.

Step 4: Create accounts in all document upload sites
Normal approach: You do it yourself
Shortcut: Pay someone from the Philippines or India to do it for you for upwards of $5

Step 5: Create keyword target list
Go to Google Adwords keyword planner and get the following
- highly niche-targeted keywords that are DIRECTLY RELATED to your book
- decent search volume
- relatively low competition levels on Google search
Normal approach: You do it yourself
Shortcut: Pay someone from the Philippines or India to do it for you for upwards of $5

Step 6: Upload your content using custom titles with your keywords
-Put your keywords in tags and description text too
- Descriptions and titles must make sense and be grammatically correct
- Rotate among your keyword sets
Normal approach: You do it yourself
Shortcut: Pay someone from the Philippines or India to do it for you for upwards of $5

Check your stats and figure out which sites send the most passive traffic and scale up on those sites with even more books.

How do the books send you traffic? Internal links and SOME SEO value (SEO should be your secondary concern)

IMPORTANT:The books must walk the reader through the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST process so they TRUST YOU. Don't just spam them by placing your link after every other paragraph. BUILD TRUST FIRST!

    Hi icoachu

    Nice sharing, thanks

Basically document uploads sites or as known Document sharing is fantastic for traffic generation because you can get high search engine rankings quite easily.

Lots of document sharing sites rank extremely well in Google, and if you target a long-tail keyword phrases, then there is quite a high chance you will get a first page ranking in Google.

Much like article directories there are dozens of potential document sharing sites on the
    Internet.

However, you’re better to stick to the big directories.

And the most famous document sharing sites are (scribd.com – slideshare.net, docstoc.com)

    Warm Regards

That's right. Longtails are good for small traffic streams. The best news is you can scale them up.

However, as I mentioned in my post, SEO benefits should be SECONDARY. What's most important is the VALUE ADD the book brings to the table as far as direct traffic is concerned.

I have applied this technique in the past with great results. Basically I would narrow down my post to a few key points and then publish them in a PDF format and spread it to list of document sharing websites. Then I would let it sit for a while and then purchase a link building gig on fiverr that would blast links to the uploaded PDF.

This way not only I receive traffic from that doc sharing site but also from Google!
