Newbie help needed

Hi there,

I am launching y first affiliate marketing business and I would like someone out there to help me out with the following:


I have a list of contacts to whom I wish to send an email but I don't know how to mail merge it with their name showing automatically.

For example one of my contact's name is John Brown. How can his name automatically appear beside the 'Hi' so that the email is addressed to him personally- ie. Hi John.

Is there a free software which can add an opt-in to a sales page which we have acquired?

    hello josette i use a auto responder and i type in [FIRST_NAME] and the program adds there name [FULL_NAME] and so on i am not sure if all email providers have this with there email accounts but you can try to send a email to your self and see if this works for you

    Hi Josette

    Have a look at AWeber or GetResponse as an example of two good auto responders that will do just what you need and much, much more besides.

    They do have monthly costs involved, but as a business expense it is well worth it and they will save you hours of time in the long run.

      Both of the above answers are correct of course, but if you are using a manual process to send you email, you could create a "mail merge" document in your word processor, adding the relevant field names for the info you want merged, and it should do it for you automatically. Most WP programs now have the option to email clients directly.

    If you want to control this automatically in future, I suggest an auto-responder such as Aweber, Get response, as mentioned above, or Total Business Cart (1Shopping Cart).

    Total business cart also includes a shopping cart option, for secure payments, at extra cost, if you want to expand in the future.

    Hi there what every one has said is correct you need a auto responder. i am not sure here but there may be some other things that you might not have.

    You may want to look into 1shoppingcart.com. They also have an affiliate manager feature as well. If you don't have an affiliate manager it will be difficult to get affiliates to work with you because they won't have the tracking.

    If you are doing the emails manually, I would suggest just doing it manually by using a template and inserting the name. That way, you can personalize it a bit particularly if you know something about them, which is probably a good idea. Perhaps mention a previous campaign they were involved with.

    This will take longer but it may be worth your while.
