Google's KW Tool & Exact Terms Question

Google will block your IP if you search exact terms to many times? What is the point of that? What is the point of having the exact option in the first place then? This information is new to me so can anyone expand on that?

I read this on a recent post here about a Keyword tool.

Unless I am mistaken they will block your IP if you do too many searches period. They don't want you scraping, that's all.

Google will definitely block your IP if you do too many consecutive searches, even when using certain other keyword tools ie. market samurai and micro niche finder. But this is only temporary.

Generally it's pretty hard to get blocked by Google's KW tool (partly because you can gather data on 200 keywords at once).

Is this what you're asking? (from your post title)

If you search Google (search) dozens of times in a minute, you'll generally be asked to type in a captcha afterwards... But it still can take dozens more searches until you're blocked.

After a few hours, you're back to normal though.

If you're wanting to avoid things that will get you blocked easily - over-using Google's Cache, doing a lot of PageRank queries, and searches for things like [keyword "Powered by PHPbb"] will get you blocked pretty quickly.
