Generate a keyword list using google keyword planner which itself is a great tool for keyword research. Then head over to moz keyword difficulty or any similar tool to find the potential of your selected keywords.

It all depends on what you want to use the keywords for. SEO, Paid Advertising, AdSense.

Keywords tool are all based on adwords keyword planner.
Keywords tool are made based on the creator's assumption.

So, it all depends on what you want to use the keywords for.

    Google Keyword Planner

I like putting in a bunch of related keywords to what I am promoting...

Then see what it spits out on the other side (usually quite a few good keywords).

Google Keywords Planners is good one, however while selection keywords you should try to focus on long-tail and sense making keywords. In this way you can get better keywords for your future SEO campaign.

Google AdWords' Keyword Planner is the best free search. There are paid search programs out there too but those can take a long time searching lots of keywords.
