  Well basically their affiliate offer is for leads, but when payday comes they will talk about their ToS and the Leads will turn in PPA so you will be scammed big time.
  
  I went once and learned my lesson, lost about $200.00 in commissions.

I'm looking for flight affiliates only at the moment, but some affiliates probably group them in with hotels, just looking for the most reliable affiliate with good pay, for the moment

I've seen people talk about travel affiliates in other threads, but are these affilaites only for hotels, or would they do flights too? Eg Expedia, booking.com ect

I'd also like to see some recommendations for reliable flight affiliate programs. I've tried a few, but nothing really performed for me (low commissions, many cancellations, it really didn't feel right). Perhaps flights are just not for me. One recommendation I can give is don't forget the national carriers (many have affiliate programs), especially if you have a website focused on a particular country or city.

For hotels I recommend Booking.com. Been with them since 2010 and they always pay in time (monthly to bank account or paypal) and are very transparent with their reporting. You can see detailed info on all the bookings made, which hotel, you can use tracking codes to see which page or which particular link has sent that visitor. One thing some people won't like is that they use an aff id in url, but no cookie, so if the visitor goes to Booking.com later and just types their url in their browser, you won't get any commission.

EDIT: One more thing I particularly like about Booking.com. They do a lot of testing and tweaking of their website. Every time I visit, it's a little different (different design or placement of buttons, the various "just one room left", "15 other people looking at the hotel now" messages etc.) I like to see that in a program I promote. My conversion rates with them have been at 2.0-3.5%.

I've also read a lot of horror stories about HotelsCombined. Haven't tried them, but I'd say if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

I've done Expedia via CJ for a while. It was probably the best flights program I've done + they also do hotels and vacation packages. Although I'm not sure how their program looks now.

Booking, Agoda only do hotels.

As an Official Travel Agent - co-owner of Blue Umbrella Vacations, LLC. and an Internet Marketer, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you're going to deal with travel at all, you should become at least a sub-agent and earn "real" commissions for the same work you're going to do as an affiliate.

Mind you that travel booking is a bit of a job, but together with all the extras, and travel-related sales a travel agency like mine provides you to offer, selling travel as a sub-agent is well worth it.

In the U.S., there is really no commissions on Air alone - it must be combined with hotel or car rental for there to be any appreciable benefit in booking Air. Many travel agents can book through Expedia for affiliate sales, as well.

In general, I would hook up with a travel agency that offers commission-able travel-related services that you can create your IM sales funnel around and drive massive targeted traffic to and clean up! If anyone is interested in more help - PM me.

I may do that if i become more serious about it, im only testing it out for now, so ill stick with expedia for now, but do you know if expedia are good for hotel booking as well as flights? Or for bundled flights and hotels? I'm looking for an affilaite with a wide range of airline companies and hotels you see

Expedia is the largest and they, together with their subsidiaries, dominate about 45% of the online market. They are followed by Orbitz and then Travelocity - each with an affiliate program.

Usually the OTAs satisfy the "search for myself" market but realize that they cannot out do the "real" travel agent. My agency recently saved $800 for a client who had already "searched" for himself using these OTA services. So, in not all cases will you get the best deal with an OTA - there are special deals that a Travel Agent can access and obtain for you which these automated OTA simply cannot put together for you.

I say this because you appear to be trying to offer your visitors "the best" automated service and really it doesn't work like that. They are in the business of making money. It is naive to think that you're always getting the best price possible using the OTA.

So in the scope of OTA services, Expedia should suffice. Know also that Hotwire is a subsidiary of Expedia and are well known for their "deals". I believe they have an affiliate program as well. Do a little more research in order to find if Expedia or a subsidiary would be the best "fit" with your program/website.

Without knowing the site and "product" you are putting together, I cannot reasonably suggest one over the other - simply Expedia is #1, at present.

The private label option is primarily for hotel bookings as private label. This means that they want other travel websites and businesses to offer hotel bookings under their own name but using the Expedia engine and business. Only apply to this if you have a lot of hotel seeking traffic.

You should apply under access.expedia for their general "affiliate" status.
Also note that access was the original Travel Agent affiliate site before they separated us to offer low marketing fees to unlicensed affiliates.

DO you know of any wordpress theme that is suited towards travel affiliates? Perhaps a deals theme, which links the visitor to expedia (with your aff link) to buy the package
