What If Google owned the world?
Hi All,
This is inspired by post # 50 in the thread on Google Voice.
First the Warrior told how he wanted Google Voice, Then he said, "Some day Google will own everything."
Of course I don't want that to happen but what if?
First off I'll say most people don't "really" own anything anyway.
The house, the bank owns, you pay dearly. When you get it paid off you come to the realization that you still make payments forever, it's just called property tax. If you don't pay the Prop tax then the real owner takes your house. PLEASE this is not a political discussion.
The Car, basically the same as the house only on a smaller scale.
The clothes on your back. I guess you own them but what if Google owned them too.
My grave. Finally something I own forever! NOT. Many cemeteries clear out the graves every so many years and sell them again.
Now this all assumes (I know what assume spells) that Google will continue on, business as usual once they own the world.
OK,
Google owns my house. They let me live there for free All I have to do is keep it looking pretty and landscaped and keep the content fresh. If I want to earn some money off of it they let me place ads on it and share the revenue. If I want to put ads on my neighbor's house they let me pay to do so.
Google owns my car. Same as my house only smaller ads.
Google owns my clothes. Free clothes, I just have to put up with the silly little movies and banners that appear on my back and not be bothered while people stare at me, reading and watching the content. Hey the clothes are free, who can complain?
My grave. If Google Owned it I could stay there forever as long as I let them put ads on my marker and as long as my descendants kept it up and provided fresh content on a regular bases, (flowers, balloons etc.)
Sorry Sorry Sorry, Don't hate me for this. It's Friday you know.
Any other If Google Owned the World thoughts?
