Competitor research software

Hi!

I don´t know if this is the right forum to ask, but I´ll give it a try anyway.
I´m thinking about selling social marketing services to small local brick & mortar companies. My first plan is to give prospects a free "competitive market analysis", to show them who their competitors in a given city is. I can use yellow pages and basic keyword research, but I can´t seem to find a software or strategy to find what companies that use social networks. What i need is a fast and efficient way to find out if the company uses facebook pages, how many likes, data on engagement and so on.

Do any of you guys how a procedure, or tips on a software that can portait this kind of information?

English is not my first language, so apologies in advance if this post is difficult to understand, and please ask questions if there is anything that I can explain clearer.

I would really appreciate if someone could give me some tips for starters!

Thanks
Aleks!

You can do this by hand, the problem is Its going to take a long time.

The good news is you can hire somebody from a relatively low wage country to do all the grunt work for you.

Believe me there is going to be a lot of research involved with what you’re trying to do.

The problem here is that there is just so much checking that needs to be done.

    You don’t just check Facebook.

You also have to check Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms.

From a manual perspective, it can be done, but only through the help of a Virtual Assistant.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1: Find all the key words that are related to the local business you are trying to recruit.

Make sure that the key words are localized.

Normally, this takes the form of parenthesis keyword and parenthesis plus location.

Step 2: Enter those location specific keywords into google and get the local results.

Step 3: Enter the local results into Facebook and other social media platforms to see if you get an official page or account.

If I were you, that’s how you need to do it manually.

It can take a lot of time.

It definitely needs a lot of analytical work to filter out false positives.

If I were you, I would automate the process.

You only need to go to freelancer.com and get a customs scipt created to automate the steps mentioned above.

It’s a good investment because it will create reports that you can then use as you contact local businesses in your area.
