I just finished my book, what do I do next?

I'm thinking about publishing it as Kindle...

What would you do to distribute it the fastest way possible for free / or low cost?

For Kindle, you can join as many FB groups a you can and announce that you are running a 2-day free ebook promotion to get as many downloads as possible, which can then help you boost your sales afterwards hopefully.

In order to offer you book for free you need to enroll in KDP Select, a promotion service for Kindle ebooks, and will have 5 free days every 90 days, but can only release it on Amazon.

Hope this helps as a start.

Do you mean paid FB posts? Or do free post on FB groups? or do you mean to contact the owner of the group and ask him to post it?

I'd like to know, that sounds good

You actually need to join the groups, some are public and some closed. The more members, the better. Then you post in that group that you published a new book and it's free on such and such date. You'll see how the others post, it's easy.

Best is to type Kindle in FB search and you'll find many groups in search results. Some of the interesting ones you can possibly start with:

    PAT's First Kindle Book
    Book Lovers
    Kindle Bestseller Secrets

But there are many others as well, just look for them on FB.

Hope this can give you a starting boost.

Have a look at this link to a YouTube video on how to market your book to FB Groups to promote your new book and hopefully gain a nice boost in downloads during your free promotion days

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQMavDTkefc&feature=youtu.be

Watch the video, and be sure you click on the "show more" button to expand the description. There are a LOT of links and helpful tips to get you started. This is not my video, but I have found it to be very resourceful.

    Hope it helps you.

I would issue a press release and do a contributed content marketing campaign.

Also, you might want to get on Twitter and do influence marketing on people who have publicized similar books in the past.

Sort of like asking - I want to lose 20lbs, what do I do next?

Well, you stop eating junk, exercise, get more sleep, lower stress level, etc....

    Questions around your ebook are:

    1. What specific problem does it target and who - beginner, intermediate, experienced?

    2. Is he information usable to get a highly desired result - like a course or program rather than just informational like a beginner's ebook?

    3. Do you have a back-end product or service or is the ebook it?

    4. Have you positioned yourself with respect to your competition - what added value do you provide and what price point can you command because of that?

When we enter a market with an information product we do it strategically by offering a lead-in beginner product and at least one higher-end, back-end product like a bundle, video course, membership site, ebook + coaching, etc...

That way you can use a variety of methods to get your lead-in product out there (ads on FB, solo ads, affiliates where you give them 100% commissions, etc...) where your goal is to get widespread distribution knowing that 30% or more will upgrade to the higher-end product.

In this model, we have used Kindle - but don't really look at Kindle as a platform where you are going to make 6-figures with one ebook (not saying it hasn't been done, but extremely rare)

You should definitely go with publishing it on Kindle, but you could also try doing a google search to see what other websites would be OK to use to sell your book.
What's also important is to find the people who will read it and present it to them. Hence, the facebook groups idea is a good one. Or forums. Or blogs or any other place online where IMers hang out.

Ok serious time: You should get your own.com so you can sell it however you want on top of selling it on Kindle/amazon/third party distribution. I would never rely on having a third party only as my single source of distribution.

Setup a .com and put your book through clickbank at the very least (on top of kindle/other). Here's why - let's say your book 'takes off' for whatever reason. If you have your own .com you can get your prospects and buyers onto lists (buyer lists being the important one), you can create upsells/downsells/follow up AR's/cross promote other stuff on thank you pages/start a forum of your own/retain traffic/recruit your own affiliates/etc etc. and most importantly always be thinking two products ahead and or how to version this if you do find it taking off on you.

Lastly, while you may think having your book on a much bigger system re awareness vs your own site is going to get you much faster/better traffic, you're claiming you do internet marketing, which means you should market your own book and take full control of your journey you'll get much better rewards than promoting a kindle link.

    Cheers,
    N.

You don't necessarily need to go the kindle route. You can sell it on your website directly and sell it just as a digital download. Since your book is in the internet marketing space, that could be a good option.

The only issue with that is it's more difficult to drive traffic. But you will probably be able to charge a higher price than on Kindle.

You gotta get some promotion for it. But let me ask you a question...

Did you write the book because a niche for it exists, or did you write it - and are looking for people to buy it?

This is very important. You should never create/get a product and ask, "Who can i sell this to?" Always let a market tell you the kind of information or product that they are looking for. Then create the book/ebook around that topic, then sell the heck out of it.

Kindle is a great idea. Consider Smashwords from Sony eBook Reader also. I've read the other posts now. A book about "marketing". Offline marketing or online marketing? Sounds like you don't have too much experience with this niche and selling to it, so you should start with an easier niche. You might want to purchase some information on marketing and internet marketing also.

    Hi

Starting chating in the social media like facebook, for example, with relevant groups and people in that niche, also find other people products (in your niche) and contact them, give them a review copy in exchange for further exposure

Leverage these relations, it really pays of down the road.

    Cheers

Are you already a member of some forums where people might be interested in buying your book? Are you established as an authority there? If so, you might have a ready market. Create buzz with those people and it will take off. (If it's good).

If not, do you have an email list? Market to those people and make them an affiliate offer. Only a few will take it, but that's all you need.

If neither of those is an option, I would go the Kindle route. Better to have it "out there" than shout in the dark.

I am launching a new book, it is not in the IM niche it's a hobby book, and I am going to launch it from my own site. I have spent the past year in related niche sites, I will have over 7,000 in my audience, and I will do FB ads as well.

    Hope this helps! Good luck.

Good Idea. The Amazon Kindle is one of the leading site for E-book. It is good to choose the Kindle. I think you should not use the free option. You can use the discount option for a specific period of time. If you use the discount option for a period, most of the people will try to buy your book within this period. Thanks
