A Strategy I Use For Fewer "Confirmation Pending" Subscribers

I've been experimenting with different ways to handle this problem, and I've found a method that works very well. Basically, some people like to opt into a newsletter using a fake email address just to see if they can get "free stuff". The end result? A huge number of "confirmation pending" subscribers on our email list (which is no good for you).

Here's how I solve this:

Send them HALF of the free eBook/report/guide IMMEDIATELY (before they confirm). At this point, if the content is good, they'll want to read the second half...BUT, the second half can only be read/downloaded once they've confirm their email.

I created a new (separate) list within the same niche I was having difficulty in (just for the sake of experimentation), and my confirmation pending numbers dropped by 70%!

The beauty behind this method is that it can work for anything- a video course, audio course, etc. Just give them half of the course immediately, and send them the second half ONLY once they've confirmed their email.

Just wanted to share this useful tip with everyone. See ya!

I can see it working, but are you generating any new sales off the newly acquired optins?

I ask because they're still going to feel tricked. Probably even more so after you only give them half the freebie, and require the other half on payment (email confirmation).

What are the end results looking like? 70% is a huge drop, and it's a creative idea -- I do think you're onto something. I'm curious about the $$$ though.

I've made $118 over the past two weeks (it has about 58 subscribers on it). Basically, what I do send them DIRECTLY to the affiliate's website once they enter their name and email address (I don't take credit for this method, I learned it from the creator of Inbox Blueprint a while back...it's called the "TYP" method). My conversion here is about 2-4%, then I follow up with emails that convert at about 10%.

This was also a concern of mine in the beginning. But as long as you offer tremendous value, they won't feel tricked...if anything they'll want more.

Hi, I want to know how you do this method.

So basically, you send them to your squeeze page, then when they opt in they are immediately directed to a sales page of the product you're promoting?

Don't you have an OTO page where visitors can buy an offer? I'm confused, thanks.

Yeah so basically it works like this:

Landing Page (Squeeze Page) ---------> Lead Enters Email Address ----------> Affiliate's Sales Page

I always assume that only 1% or 2% of people will buy when they get sent to the sales page (but this tends to be enough to pay for your PPC advertising costs which is GREAT). From here, you'll have them on your email list and can send them more referred product links and earn huge profits.

**I don't personally own any of the products or services I'm promoting. 99% of them are from ClickBank.

This is a great variation of the long-standing REVERSE OPTIN optin generation strategy.

    Thanks for the share.

It's all about building TRUST and CREDIBILITY so your viewer would opt in.
