Which strategy is better in your opinion?

Hi, I'm new here so please bare with me.

I finally came up with an idea for a website. I've done all my keyword research and have the domain. Here's my idea...

To start with I am going to be promoting Amazon products throughout my blog until I can replace the links with higher paying merchants. The site is going to be an authority site in the niche with tons of articles, videos and obviously product reviews.

What I keep getting stuck on is would my viewers rather see a product review or article written by only me so it's only my opinion, then they have to go somewhere else if they want another opinion? Or would it be better to include the opinions of other's who have experience with the product as well?

My first thought was to buy the products myself and then form my own review. But then I was thinking that when people want to know about a product they read the reviews over at amazon...sometimes hundreds of reviews for a single product. Not something everyone has time to do. What if I were to scour the most recent 100 reviews or so and create a condensed version of the reviews into sort of a pros and cons list for my visitors?

My target viewers are both male and female between the ages of 18-40 if that helps.

I'd appreciate your opinion!

Thanks,
Judith

I would say do a little bit of both! I think that the more opinions you include will increase your credibility and not just seem like another guy pushing a product to get $$

I used to write for an Amazon affiliate and we saw great success digging through the Amazon reviews and addressing the Pros and Cons addressed by other reviewers.

    Thanks for the quick responses!

Well I'm defiantly not the pushy sales guy(er..gal). The products I'm including are only going to be one's I've used myself and want to share with my viewers. I do think it could be helpful if I added what others have said...both good and bad in an unbiased state. That way if they do want to buy the product, they will have an informed decision beforehand.

Now I guess my question is on plagerizing? (I wouldn't want to do that) Do I copy the important part out of the review that the viewer has said and post it as a quote on my website under the title "What others are saying about..." or should I rewrite it to sum up with the reviewer was saying to avoid plagiarizing?

Again thanks! I really LOVE this forum!
