Things to do in 30 minutes

Help answer my question: Things to do in 30 minutes to help your IM business.

Let's say you only have 30 minutes. This could be in the morning, lunch, before bed. It doesn't matter. What are some things you can do to be productive. Reading emails or forums is one thing that I often do, but it's not very productive. Yet, doing something like making a splash page or writing good sales letter takes longer (at least for me).

I hope to get a list of ideas and write a article on this. Thanks for your contributions.

    Hmmm good question,

let's say I only had 30 mins, I would (and do) outsource most of my long tedious or boring work.

Analyse and review the things that you do during the day.

Analyse your statistics, try to figure out on how you could
leverage one traffic generation strategy or another.

Try to find out which efforts bring you the best results and

        Take a power nap.

I find this does wonders for energy levels later in the day. It also seems 'reboot' the computer/brain and helps process some of the things I've been thinking about or working on earlier in the day.

Well, I was going to write something but I guess there's little point now I think this just about covers it.

I used to spend the odd 30 mins or so creating backlinks or posting free ads but I outsource that now. One of the perks of success, I guess.

If I have half an hour to kill now, I usually come on the forums as there is still so much about this business that I can learn from guys that post on here. You can never know it all.

      Steve.

I would probably write an article, even though it usually takes me more than 30 minutes. But writing an article always gives me a sense of accomplishment. If I write one article a day, I feel I have done something productive. Of course, I like to do more than that for the whole day.

    JamesFraze...AWESOME!!!

I really don't come to the Warrior Forum too often because I find that it kills too much time but I'm glad I came today. For me, if I have a quick 30 minutes I either start and article or do some brainstorming for articles that need to be written...subject, attention grabbing subject lines, etc..and maybe even do a rough layout and email it to myself so I don't forget it because I'm over 40 and I tend to forget more than I remember if I don't write it down.

Thanks though JamesFraze...there are a lot of 30 minute chunks throughout the day that I could be doing something and those little things add up to a lot over the course of a year

I recommend you to use a GTD (getting things done) software. I divide any - even very small TODO into actions and manage all todos with it. My problem was that I never set small goals. If you have goals, try to divide it into smaller pieces. Not the first million should be my #1 goal but the first 100$ and then increase the next goal limit. That was just possible with this kind of software.

    Build a squidoo lens

5 Minutes - Decide your topic
    5 Minutes - write introduction
5 Minutes - Add a wikipedia module (show intro in lens)
5 Minutes - Add A google blogsearch about your keyword
5 Minutes - Add an Amazon Module
5 Minutes - Add A Featured Lens - Link all your related lenses

of course some of them would take less than five minutes, some would take more. I've done this and if you are really focused, it works..

Thanks for your replies, some really good ideas. James you really offered a lot of excellent advice.

I tend to work from a to-do list and try to work on my top priority whatever that may be for the day such as writing a newsletter or blog post.

I will admit I would never be able to write an article or Squidoo page from scratch in only 30 minutes but would be able to do a rough draft and then finish it the next time I had 30 minutes.

When I have less time, lets say 15 minutes idle time I will go to Twitter, here or other forums and read up on things. Now I hope to contribute more in these smaller time frames.

I would say to take a minute and ask yourself an empowering question. Like "What can I do in the next thirty minutes that with grow my business the most?" Kind of like what you did when you made this post, you were asking yourself that very question, and wha la, you came up with the great idea to ask the people here at WF, and now have a nice list for your article! Ask and you shall receive.

    30 minutes of batching.

1). Switch off the mobile phone or put it on silent.

2). Go somewhere in your house where there is perfect peace and quiet, and politely but assertively tell everyone in your house not to disturb you. Maybe put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door so they know that you mean business!

3). If you must be online to do your work then limit yourself to only one browser window with one browser tab AND only use this for your work. Do not use it for general browsing and do try and 'resist the irresistible' - avoid checking your emails!

4). Work as fast as you can, if you are writing then do not stop to edit or correct just write...fast!

Works for me, but I tend to do this in 1 hour batches as opposed to 30 minute batches.

A web 2.0 profile that links back to your money site using your good keywords.

Essentially it is anything, anywhere, that gives you a link with good link text. Some link funnels are better than others. Here is a brief list of funnels:

      BAD FUNNELS
      • classified ads
      • forum posts & comments
      • Spam Sites
      • Most Directories
      • Link Farms
      • Any link that goes away
      • Any link that says "click here" instead of "your keyword"
      • Any link that uses nofollow
      • Any link that is from an image instead of text
      • Any link from flash

      GOOD FUNNELS
      • Blogger Sites
      • Wordpress Sites
      • Squidoo Lense
      • Hub Pages
      • Xanga Sites
      • wetpaint Sites
      • Ezine Articles
      • Press Releases that allow keyword links
      • You Tube Channel Links if your account name is a keyword
      • Anything from a relevant home page
      • Anything from a relevant EDU site
      • anything form a relevant GOV site

There are more - but I have to get back to work!

    Let us Clean the DESK

    1. Clean up My computer Desktop, Arrange files , newly created files, downloaded files, all goes to their respective folders.

    2. Clean up my Inbox, - All emails are processed, email requiring email is replied,
email needed be forwarded is fwded.. and email which has some action in it is taken and
an action is created in todo-list, or printed for record and then all emails are ARCHIVED. So i have empty inbox! Yeah EMPTY inbox.

    3. Now I have clean desktop, and Empty Inbox, during this process I may have come
across some very important things which needed to be done. So i create a text file,
name it - To-do List- put all one-liner actions into it. And try to do any&every action in list
until i hit my 30minutes deadline!

This will make your day great and you feel a sense of clarity of your objectives
and actions needed to be done and you will already be on the path you want to
    continue...
