Should I integrate or delete my Blogger site?

I created a new site with WordPress and am wondering if I should delete my site on Blogger to avoid getting punished by Google for possible duplicate content. At first, I just started moving the posts and redirecting traffic, but this has become too tedious and time consuming.

Another option would be to set up a third party URL on the Blogger site using my WP domain. This would also allow me to keep my Blogger feed, which might be good since I have been unsuccessful at locating the feed URL for my WP site.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think you should delete your blogger website. Recently, I realized I had a bunch of crap blog sites set up for my writing services, took awhile to delete them all, but now I only have one - professional - one. Delete the blogger site.

When I made the same transition back 6 years ago, I just deleted all my blogger accounts.

      I recommend the same thing

No, simply make all the traffic that goes to your blogger blog to be automatically redirected to your new wordpress site using a 301 redirect. By doing a migrate you still keep the seo juice and everything intact, ooh crap, you should have asked first

I don't know if it's too late but you should simply migrate your blogger blog to wordpress. This way you won't have a problem with your feed as well. Simply start all over and search for "how to migrate from blogger to wordpress" on google.

You don't have to copy one blog post at a time hehe you just simply migrate by creating a 301 redirect.

You can use Blogger site as a secondary blog, To drive traffic and do-follow backlink for your Primary site you can use it.

How much traffic were you getting to your Blogger domain? If you were getting a lot I would think about a redirect . . . but if you weren't getting much then I would work to move your content and dump the Blogger account.

Don't worry about moving content if it is your own (you wrote it). It's not duplicate in Google's eyes if you created it. Duplicate content is a problem if it appears on one site . . . it's not usually a problem if it appears on other sites after it's indexed on your site.

You should be able to import your content from Blogger to your new site. it's done all the time that way.

Re: Duplicate Content... Many of my blog posts were also posted on ezinearticles . com... So they have been shared around the internet as well. My understanding from Matt Cutts was that this was no longer an acceptable SEO practice for ranking with Google.

I haven't been posting any new articles to my blogger site for quite some time, so the traffic isn't very high.

I have been redirecting each blog post to my new website, as I mentioned earlier, and using the content on my new site. But now I'm even wondering if this is a good idea with regard to Google's policies.

Here's an example of what I've been doing if anyone wants to check it out...

GUITAR & INDIE MUSIC BLOG: GUITAR STRINGS - Understanding Their Differences

It would be easier to delete the blog site, but as Nytshade and Steve B said, I thought it would be a good idea to redirect the traffic to my new site. But it's been very time consuming.

I appreciate everyone's help and suggestions and will re-read your posts to see if I can gain more clarity. Thanks again.

According to me, you should delete the blogger post. Because you posted the content on the blogger before your hosing site. On the other hand if same content is in 2 place, your traffic will divide into two sites. so your original sites traffic will not good. Finally I advice you, delete your blogger content. Thanks

Well... I took the plunge and deleted my blogger blog! Chalk it up as Spring cleaning cuz it was just taking up too much time. "Less is More" is my new motto for 2015. Time to move on. Thanks for your input everyone. =)
