As newbie How much is it required to invest for building a responsive list?

If someone has no product,what product would you suggest as free report?

Is it possible to build a list without product?

    If you create yourself a decent funnel you can start with about $300 for solo ads and hopefully make some back from your funnel.

    Thats how you will build a crazy good list of buyers too!

    As for product, I would go with something that you know or find something that is PLR that you can re-brand.

      Agreed, a decent funnel will give you a higher ROI, so set up a funnel first then you should invest a percentage of your monthly income into building your new business. How much? That's up to you to decide.

    As for the free report, some marketers might suggest you to buy a PLR product, then rebrand it and offer it as free gift. I had done this before. Just bear in mind that, if you really want to use PLR product, go find top quality products, buy 3 - 4 similar products (most of the PLR products are sold vey cheap) so that you can compare their quality. Nad, don't forget to edit the content by adding other relevant information or add some photos / screenshots.

    Another thing I would like mention here is that, if you are going to buy PLR product about Facebook, please buy the latest one. Look at their release date, if it is more than 2 years, then it's better to move on to another Facebook product. This is because Facebook changes very fast and very frequent, so if you offer something 'old', do you thing your subscribers will love it?

    There is no set number, some of the best lists are built over a period of years with free methods. For fast results, solo ads tend to work, also Facebook ads, but sometimes there's problems, and Facebook will disable your account or it will fail to deliver results. I had a lot of problems with Facebook, stopped using it all together. There are other - good - sources of traffic out there, hit Google, and see what you can find, sometimes even Fiverr sellers can send traffic that converts. TEST.

    You can list build without a product by offering a service. A free webinar is a great example. You do the webinar, and then that replay becomes your base product. You can then work on transcriptions and further developments of the topics you address.

    No money is required to build a responsive list. If you spend on paid advertising you will grow your list faster . . . but money is not required.

    The only product you should use as a free report is one of high value that is relevant to the niche in which you plan to do business. There are many ways to secure such a product; but it will require that you identify your market first (which should always be done.)

    Everything starts with market research. You should identify a need or desire that you're going to fulfill before you ever start building a list. How else will you know who to target to be on your list?

    Having a "list" is nonsense unless you have a purpose for it. Why go to the effort of building a list if it's just random people - you'll never make money trying to sell to them. You want a targeted list of people interested in the same thing so you can market specifically to their needs. Otherwise, just building a list is useless.

      The basics of starting an email marketing business are pretty negligible, relatively speaking :

      1.Autoresponder - $20/mo
      2. Hosting- $10/mo
      3. Domain- $10/yr
      4. Free Giveaway - free if you do it yourself


      Like I said one of the most affordable small businesses to get started with.

      But many fail because it looks so easy.

      You need to educate yourself and formulate a strategic Plan and it is by no means easy

      I agree with Steve. Building a responsive list of subscribers that know,like and trust you will be more of a time investment,not necessarily an investment of money.

    Aside from the must have technology, when it comes to the actual building of the list part, you should spend as much as you can afford to until you figure out how to generate profit and scale.

    if you have money to invest, I recommend create a good product. fancy graphics and good sales page and really good content to get affiliates to promote your products! that way you are going to start getting free targeted traffic! the best traffic!

    If you have no product, then blatantly state the fact that they are entering their name and email address to sign up for your weekly/whenever email newsletter.

    Yes it's possible to build a list without a product - just read my last sentence.

    But get sales from a list without promoting a product... what other way would you expect to make money from someone if not this way?

      Good question.

      You probably already understand that an email is a valued asset @ $1/subscriber/Month. knowing that it should be just a numeric calculation.

      However, you need to have a strategy in place before you start to build a list.

      You should build a list around a specific Niche and provide value to that list. The more value you provide the more responsive the list will be and the more valuable that list will be to you.

    I personally like to use paid traffic when building my list, but never all at once. I'll pay $50-$100 in PPC/solo ads, test, pay for more ads, test, pay for more ads, etc. etc. etc. If you aren't A/B testing your landing page, then you are probably losing money (or at least leaving a lot of money on the table). For example, let's say that you've built your landing page, and it converts at 30%. Now try to build a second landing page to try to beat it. Keep doing this until you can't beat your previous conversion rate. This will help you maximize your conversion rates. Once you've done this, meaning, once you've developed a "winning" (profitable) campaign, you can pour as much money as you can afford into it and earn a profit.
