[HOW TO] Build a solid sales funnel that converts like crazy...

Hey warriors,

I thought i'd share with you my kick ass strategy that's been helping me build super highly converting sales funnels with ease.

I've been keeping my sales funnel a secret for a while and because I'v had a lot of help from this forum I thought id take a moment to give back .

Here are the steps within my funnel and I'l add a little description to each one as to why I do it that way.

Step 1: Opt In form/Squeeze page.

This part is a strange one because I see a lot of people using the "freebie" method to get people to opt in and get on their lists.

This is a method you can use but I highly suggest you change this to an opt in just to see your sales page/video, this way you can still say "Check out how I made $xxx in x amount of days blah blah" and move the person right to your sales page for a chance to make a sale right away instead of waiting on your follow up sequence.

Step 2: Sales Page/Video

I feel that both sales pages and sales video's work great but if you really want to maximize your profit I would combine the two.

Have a sales video at the top about your product or PLR product and also include a long form sales page below that video, this way you can capture people who like to watch video and people who like to read.

You should have this product at a low price point such as $7 / $27 / $47, this can also be called a "trip wire" to get people into your buyers list.

Step 3: OTO (One Time Offer)

This one time offer should be a BONUS and addition to your product it should never be something that has to be purchased in order for your product to work.

Price point should be somewhere between $19 and $97 depending on what your front end product was.

Step 4: Profit Getter

The easiest way to create something that perceives value is to offer private coaching for the select few, this way you can charge a lot more than for just an addition to the product.

For example in my sales funnel the profit getter is set to $497 for private 1 on 1 coaching for a period of 3 months to get people up and running.

Above is my complete sales funnel that you can copy!

I really hope this post helped and its EXACTLY how my funnel is set up at the moment and trust me its converting like CRAZY!

All the best,
Matt

While this is great to share, I feel like it's important for newbies to know that even if they copy this funnel, they still need to have a great product, great sales copy, and know how to relate to their audience in order to see decent conversions. Nice share, though.

Very true Jennifer, if I was going to tell everything I think i'd need at least 100,000 words or so and most people would get bored! Ha!

      Thanks

      I agree!
It's great to have someone inspire you by sharing their strategy, like OP did, but there are still some key elements that need to be taken into consideration!

    Nice quick post.

    My newest funnel is:

    Optin> $10 FE w/ $37 bump offer> $97 Core offer w/ $47 bump offer> $997 High Ticket

I am also starting to implement using AWProTools which basically has the same capabilities as InfusionSoft. That way can start tagging and create custom messages based on the actions of my subscribers.

Anyways, just curious you say "converts like crazy" what number would be that for you?

Though i agree overall that a well built sales funnel can bring in a lot of $$$, we need to be careful about where the majority of focus goes.

The tendency for some marketers is to create an amazing sales pages/funnels that are slightly incongruent with the actual product (incorrectly applied upsells are relevant here as well).

I am of the belief that the brunt of the effort should go into the actual product itself to make it exceptional value, and then into the sales page, marketing etc.

When you put too much effort into your funnel and marketing efforts while neglecting the quality of the actual product, you're going to run into problems fast once people see what you're really offering.

The people who I have seen start out with the strongest products eventually found their way onto a much stronger foundation than those who neglected the quality of their products in favor of trying to get as many sales as possible. You really need quality going into the hands of your customers so they remember you for the right reasons.

This is a very important post.

Strong products will always thrive obviously but you said something even more important,

            incorrectly applied up-sells and cross-sells.

That is HUGE in a funnel.

I think many people just create a core product and toss in some other products after it so they can make some extra money in fact those products are not related at all in any way.

Some things that always work best is making the core product "more automatic"
            as the up-sell.

Sell a product on copywriting and then up-sell with a product that is a template based "already created" sales letter all you have to do is "fill in the blanks."

That's a wonderful post my friend! Thanks for sharing. I totally understand some of the concerns expressed by other folks on this thread because quality products/content MUST remain at the center of our marketing efforts, but I also praise OP for sharing this. It's inspiring, it's simple, and it shows that anyone can do this, assuming they have something valuable to share with the world. So kudos to you!

I do have a question, though, about the time sequence in your funnel. Can you please say more about how much time there is between each one of the offers? For example, I understand that the very first offer Tripwire is shown to the new lead ASAP. And so is OTO1 after purchase of the Tripwire offer. Now, what about OTO2, is it shown right after purchase of OTO1? Or, do you give your buyer some time to breathe a little and get back to them later via email for OTO2? I'm just worried about overwhelming my new lead with too many offers...do you have such concerns of turning off your new clients (who basically opted in for a FREE offer at first). Won't they just drop everything and go at OTO2 if they sense that you are milking them too much in that one instance?

So I guess that makes 2 main questions :-)
THanks in advance for sharing your insights.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more 'attention".

Probably because it involves work and most people around here are still chasing
a method where they can set up a blog in 15 minutes and press a button
where 153,456 visitors suddenly come, for free, and then buy their affiliate products...

    sad.

    All about that backend, bay-bay!

This is a great spot for webinars, whether be live or automated.

  • Yes, the more UPSELLS the better.

It's always great to start with...

    > A tripwire ($7 - $49)
    > A Core Offer ($49 - $597 usually)
    > High Ticket Offers ($597 +)

    Great funnel

  • In your Sales Funnel, your OTO1 ($47) is priced at x3 of your front-end product ($17).

It's difficult to convert an entry user into a 3x payer. For that reason, I would recommend you to test pricing your OTO1 at around the same level of the front-end in order to maximize conversions as much as possible to increase the dollar-value of first-time customers, and reserving your cash cows (high-end tickets and recurring payment programs) for later on in your funnel.

Transforming a $17 front-end customer into a $34 customer (front-end + OTO1) is fairly easy and it doubles your first-time customer value, which helps significantly your cash flow, your advertising budget, etc. And, once those first-time customers have entered your customer funnel, by all means warm them up to your real cash cows.
