I'm working on getting a few WP sites up. Still in the early stages and I've decided I need to know this info before I progress any further, thanks in advance for any great replies. ![]() How many different niches is ok to start out with? I've chose around 4 that I truly think are great and initially intended to run them on one "complex" WP for lack of better terms. I planned to do the 4 by making them related, then each having a subdomain off my main domain. Is that a bad thing to do? Should I have all separate domains or is it okay to use subdomains? What do you recommend? How many domains do most of you all have? |

Start off with making one profitable. Then you will find a system quicker and get some accurate results. I think concentrating on one alone will make you learn more and concentrate on individual things. But hey, everyone's different...

Thank you for your reply. Do you know also, is it true that choosing a cute and catchy domain proves less rewarding than one that has keywords in it? I was recently reading a post which stated that and the domain I had decided on doesn't include a keyword. Should I purchase another?

I expected that to be a reply somewhere down the line. Its nice to know because I know there are so many here who have 20+ domains and make good on them all but I'd love it if I could choose a limited number and make good with them. I don't think I can keep up with too many if you know what I mean.

I mean, if you're creating a brand name then yes a cute and catchy name is better. As for ranking in the search engines then a URL with the keyword in is better. This is classed as 'on page' SEO. Off page is more important however so concentrate on getting back links for your keywords. | |

Thanks once again ProfitMan. I will eventually be trying to brand myself per say, not necessarily a product but creating a name for myself so I think I'll give my cute and catchy little domain a try, if all else fails I can always change later in the game I suppose. |

You do whatever you think you can do. Subdomains are generally viewed by search engines as separate entities. So if it makes sense to save on hosting by using submdomains then do it. But if it makes more sense because they are related to use folders then do that... easier to promote. |

Thank you for that! It is nice to know I have options and am not stuck trying to do something I am not nearly as familiar with as I would like to be. I cannot express my appreciation to you people in this forum nearly enough. Its so nice to have so many wonderful people willing to take moments from their time to help others in learning their way into the marketing stream and earning an income!
