Grew up in the Corvallis / Albany area.

Miss living in Portland A LOT this time of

I am just north of Portland in Vancouver Washington (the other Vancouver), at least for a day or two longer. We have to move to near Bend Oregon in the next few days, for a short time until we get some business taken care of but then we will be back again. At least until I can get the wife convinced to move to Mexico or Belize or somewhere like that. Someplace with sunshine, sand, and margaritas is what I am looking for, but I need the income to support it first. But since I found this forum, I think I can maybe learn enough here so I don't have to worry about the income thing. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can, I know I can.

The SOUTHWEST is fulla catcus and scorpions and desert.

Okay, I'm willing to count you Canadians as being part of our Pacific Northwest BUT, Alice, as a matter of fact we DID have a big blank place on our school map when I was in school. It hadn't been discovered yet!

I am considering starting a Pacific Northwest/Canada Southwest mastermind group. First, you need to read my post at...

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...html#post91717

and second, if you are interested in being a part of something like this, let me know. Angela Edwards and John Rogers don't have a choice... they are automatically in the group. No objections, please!

If anyone else is interested, please let me know. You can post it here. You can send me a PM. You can send me an email at cwsutton@qwest.net. You can send it Pony Express. You can send it via smoke signals. It doesn't really matter. Just let me know.

Okay, that's all I have so I have to go make another post. I am on a roll today!

    Take care!

That's what makes it so green.

A lot of people don't realize that Washington and Oregon both have two distinct climates; green and wet and (east of the Cascade mountain range) dry and desert. They even have rattlesnakes over there on the other side.

I might have to say 3 climates, because here in the Rogue Valley it hasn't rained big since early June, and then it just sprinkled for a few minutes twice... the summer has been hot and sunny the whole time.

But it's not desert climate, it's still lush and green (surrounded by hills and trees full of evergreens that really are!)

And we're not east of the mountains, we're in a valley in the midst of them (although the mountains here aren't very mountainous, that's why I said "hills").

I moved from northern California to Washington state in January 1984. Except for a couple of years in Germany, a couple of years in North Carolina, and a year in the Middle East, I've been here ever since.

I moved to Shelton, where I live now, in 1994. I've also lived in Elma and Grayland. (So, Angela, I know Aberdeen/Hoquiam well)

Teresa King, who has been a Warrior since the uni-sol days, used to live in Elma, but I think she's up in the Tacoma area now.

Jason Moffatt used to be in some little hick town in the Sandy, Oregon area. Can't remember the name of it.

I believe Rebecca Fine lived in Lacey or Olympia, WA when she started scienceofgettingrich.net. I think she's in the Reno area now.

Lots of Northwesterners kicking around if you look hard enough.

And... I'm not 100% sure these guys are Warriors, but I would guess so... Paul Colligan is in Portland and Derrick Van Dyke is in Eagle Point, OR. Also Michael Goldman, affiliate manager for Nitro Marketing, is somewhere close to me.

      cheers

Wow, that is totally cool, John. You were part of my community for a while and you are still rather close.

My mom now lives in Elma and is the reporter for the Vidette, if you remember that newspaper. My family lived in Grayland for abut five years, so we know that area well, too.

My niece has lived in Sandy, OR for her entire life, so I am well acquainted with that area too. That is so great that there are so many of us PNW folks here.

That's near Pe Ell, isn't it? (But nowhere near Pysht or Humptulips.)

Actually they may be closer to Humptulips than to Pe Ell. (jeez, you know where Pe Ell is?) You can get to Pe Ell from Grayland by going out through Raymond, then heading towards Chehalis. Probably close to a 90 minute drive.

Pysht was a new one on me, so I looked it up on Google maps. I've been as far as Port Angeles on the east side of the peninsula, and Sekiu on the west, but never between the two which explains how I've missed it. Looks like a cool road trip though. I'm going to have to check it out.

My husband, when he moved here, thought Humptulips was the funniest town name he has EVER heard.

Humptulips, Elma, and parts of Grayland are in Grays Harbor county, so they're considered part of our community. Pe Ell is in Lewis county, which is the Centralia/Chehalis area.

Just a bit of trivia...did you know that the name "Pe Ell" came to be because the Native Americans couldn't pronounce 'Pierre' like the French?
And Humptulips is actually a Native American word meaning that the river is "hard to pole". :p

Does moving BACK to Oregon count?

Grew up outside Corvallis, making a move to Bend next summer.

And married a Canadian, so I have all my PNW bases covered

That's great that there are some many Warriors up here. We might want to consider putting together a Northwest gathering sometime. It sounds like Portland might be a good in-between spot but we can figure that out when we do it. I bet Jason would foot the bill for the whole get together. He's generous like that, you know!

And, by the way, don't think I haven't noticed that no one has told me what time supper was. My feelings are a little bit hurt right now!

    Chris,

I'm in the North East, however, Governor (what's her name) made a blunder and called it the 'North West' in one of her 'speeches', while she was visiting during one of her campaign rallies...

    Does that count?

Maybe she was looking at it from the perspective of seeing it from Russia since she's pretty much in their back yard. If you think about it, the East Coast of North America is West of Russia. :-)

Redmond, the one with Microsoft, not the one in OR. And I think it actually rains more in NY, we just keep up the drizzly days facade to keep out the influx of Californians. LOL

Yes, it has...just like it often is in February. You'd have thought it was already Spring.

    Hi all,

I moved to Texas (worst mistake of my life) from Oregon. I am moving back to Oregon here in about 2 weeks.

While I lived in Oregon, I lived in the following cities:

Bend, Redmond,Salem, Lincoln City, & Medford.

Does anyone know how Medford is doing with the way the economy is going? You can pm me if you want.

    Deanna
