Things to know before begining IM.

What are some things that are essential for Someone to know before starting IM. And what's a great source to learn it. I get overwhelmed on these forums, so I figured I'd ask and start there. Also where can I find some products to promote, as I have none of my own, yet.

    Copy writing
    Know Your Niche (WELL!)

    Find good business books.
    Find good copy writing books
    Read every post you can find here that teaches even a little bit.
    Have your path at least slightly figured out (how you will make money!)

    Or you can outsource all of that stuff and only do the part where you come up with new and creative ideas. You need money for that thou.

    I would much rather be the best marketing guy than a mediocre marketer, designer, coder and writer all in one.

      Absolutely. If I had skipped a vacation and put $2,000 into outsourcing as soon as I had my system downpat, instead of trying to master everything and do every little manual task by hand, it would have moved me ahead two years (meaning - I would have been at the same place three months after that as I am now - two years and three months after that). Outsourcing has changed my life, and that's not hyperbole.

    Here's are the best thing to know about how to go about starting with IM:

    1. Get a mentor, if you possibly can

    2. Take it one step at a time. Learn one thing and implement it. Then go on to the next.

    3. Focus on your strengths - start with something you think you'll be good at and try that first

      They are square on with the #1 as I wish I would of had someone holding my hand to start...

      The thing is you can make money online a huge array of ways...it's just a matter of sorting through all the hype and finding what works and what doesn't...

      I am into helping new people get started with the basics...as it does require a bit of dedication and time...
