Yes, they could go to others websites, but I think overall it is beneficial to let people comment on your Site.

It keeps them engaged and can bring about a sense of Community which can be really beneficial

I allow the comments, but there is a small restriction. Anyone can make a comments on my site, but after approving me, the comments will show for everyone. The comments will hidden till my approve. If I think the comments is not good or, related to my topic, I reject the comments, on the flip side if the comments is related to my topics & good, then I make approve to visible to everyone. I think the comments should allow. Thanks.

I think you can filter comments and allow good ones only if you want. I just don't know the exact method on how to do this thing.

Wordpress makes it really easy to filter out spam comments, Askimet does it all for you. I leave comments enabled on my blogs, it helps.

I used to allow comments but I found that 90% were totally unrelated to what I'm blogging about so closed it. I'm not against allowing social interactions but managing comments takes a large chunk of time.

Good, bad or ugly it is great to let people comment on your site. If someone does leave negative feedback you can remove or better still offer more guidance in a professional way...this will also show off your character. People build their loyalty and trust by what they read and decipher on your site. It's always a win/win situation and usually you can tell when someone is just being negative. Other people see it too......oh and you can opt to view the comments before they are published and delete if you don't like them. It will also teach you things about your site and you.

No, I don't allow comments - although I will probably allow moderated comments from registered users on the new trade directory site I'm launching soon. I've found in the past that all I get is spam.

You can install the Disable Comments plug-in on Wordpress to stop people leaving comments.

You absolutely need ways to interact with your visitors. Allowing for comments is just an easy way to achieve that as long as you moderate it well and don't only approve positive comments.

Oh, Disqus is probably the best commenting tool to embed on your site.

Blog commenting is a great way to get quality backlinks and some traffic as well. So, if you "forbid" your own readers to visit other people's website, then you lose the chance to do effective blog commenting yourself, and that is bad for your website. You shouldn't be afraid of your competition, you should find a way to coexist and, if you can, be better than them.

You can place your comments on approval.. But yes comments are good for your website if you have valuable content for your visitors.

For You Tube videos I allow auto approved comments. I usually don't have any issues in regards to spam but once in awhile I have to prune.

I allow comments on two of my blogs with admin approval only. I find Wordpress and Blogger allow too many spam posts for my liking so for this reason I have to lock things down a bit more. You Tube is much better in this regard.

I use wordpress for my blogs, I allow comments and the wordpress system makes it easy to moderate. I set the comments to need admin approval before displaying on the site and you can make any edits you see necessary to the comments before approving them although I don't really make any edits.

I think that the options to leave comments should be activated on your website in order to develop a community, this would encourage your visitors to return and share their opinions which results in great relationship building

  • I think let visitors to comment on your website. You have full authority to chose the best one or delete that which you don't want on your website.Comments will help to build the good relationships also.
