Article package done... What now? Help for a newbie?

Hey folks! I've been reading the forum for a little while and lurking for the most part. In the last few days, I've been starting to add my two Canadian pennies to threads, but I have some burning questions that I'd love an answer on from experienced writers/IM pros.

I've written a really high-quality package of ten niche PLR articles ("saving money" niche), but I'm wondering what I should do now, to actually sell them as PLR articles.

I looked for other PLR-specific sites to sell them on, but the one I knew about doesn't seem to be accepting submissions anymore.

I could post it as a WSO or classified... in which case, what's the difference between the two -- just pricing? Would I have to make it available to the public at a higher price, or would the fact that I'd sell it for less than my usual rates make it a WSO? Is the $20 fee (if I read the guidelines correctly) worth it? Would a newbie to this forum (though not writing in general) have to do anything in particular to make it a success? (I'm already planning on giving away five or ten "review" packages so I can get positive feedback.) I would also limit it to 50 sales of the package to make the content more unique... good idea or not?

Or should I opt to sell them on my own site... if so, is there any kind of system I could set up to make the delivery automatic without spending a fortune? Maybe I should deliver articles by hand until I get more experience and then opt for a system... in which case, should I ask people to PM me or post with their Paypal transaction ID, and then I would email them the package?

Basically, I'm a writer with just a basic knowledge of IM, looking to become a businessperson without relying on content consignment sites to be the "middle man". Any advice or links or anything would really be appreciated! I'll do the walking through the Google pages, I'm not afraid of research, but... I'm lost right now.

Get yourself a blogger.com blog, it's free. Write articles on several different topics, really make them shine. Post the articles to your blog as samples of your work.

Post one of the articles of your plr set on your blog. Put the notation "not for reprint unless permission is acquired from the author."

It's difficult to say whether your plr will sell well as a WSO. Sometimes they do very well, sometimes you only sell a few sets.

Limit the sets to 20, 25, or 50 sets, whatever you're comfortable with.

In the wso itself include the title of each article, how many words it is, and the first sentence or two.

I wouldn't give away any of the sets as review copies. You may just be cannibalizing your sales. If you feel you must have some testimonials about the quality of your writing,then offer to write a free 300 word article for the first 5 warriors who contact you in exchange for their review.

Reserve one of the sets of your plr for yourself. Find an affiliate product that fits your plr. Set up a squidoo lense, separate blog, or wetpaint site to offer the affiliate product. Use the plr material to drive traffic to your affiliate product site. Rewrite the articles and submit to article directories and link to your affiliate product site.

WSO means that the offer has to be a screaming deal, usually the price is much lower than what you'd offer to the general public. Classified not so much.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I'm working on a portfolio blog right now, so I'll add a post with sample articles. I'll go follow your advice right now.

So, if I decided to offer it as a WSO, it would be okay if it wasn't actually being released to the general public (since I'm not sure where else I could promote it yet)? The price would definitely be lower than my normal $10+ per article. :P

Why don't you just set up a WP blog about personal finance and use your original content to populate it. Then re-write the articles for directory submission, squidoo lens, and possibly make them into video articles for submission, you would then get enough traffic to your finance blog to sell some affiliate products and you can continue doing this and make more money than just selling them as PLR.

And if you sell articles for $10 a pop around here you will need to sell to only 1 person and they better be some very,very,very good articles for that price, as for PLR at the WF you need to price the articles way less than that or you will not get any sales.

Thanks for your help, Joel. I'm definitely starting to look up blogging, and I think I'll start with a simple Blogger blog (since Wordpress doesn't allow affiliate links) and use my articles myself.

I usually sell ghostwritten or unique usage articles for more than $10 apiece, but for selling these as PLR, I was considering something like $30 for the package of 10, 50 licenses maximum. Do you think this would be appealing to Warriors, or still too high-priced/too many licenses sold to be attractive? Thanks again!
