Marketing a Reggae Related Website in Brazil?

Greetings,

Total noob question here, this is only my second post ever.

I am curious as to whether anyone has any luck marketing their sites in Brazil?

I am trying to scrape a reggae related website together and I couldn't help but notice that reggae music is pretty popular in Brazil. I also know from doing international marketing research that Brazilians are reported to be some of the highest consumers of web content in the world.

I also noticed that the CPC for reggae keywords would be very low (like 2 cents a piece)

So by all accounts, this seems like a no-brainer. Is there something I am missing??

So my question is, if I pay for targeted web traffic from Brazil, will it be worth my while? Do Brazilians tend to convert more or less than other countries? Will I be wasting my money?

I know there are a lot of factors to consider, but if you have experience in this area, I'd love to hear from you.

  • Your posts contains insufficient information.

Reggae "related" would probably not be one of your keywords used.

    Therefore,

if I pay for targeted web traffic from Brazil, will it be worth my while?
    is hard to answer.

What's your real target? Reggae music info, songs, merchandise?

I like Reggae, but don't click on everything that has the word Reggae on it.

No experience here in the reggae market, but I can tell you that your questions can be answered with a little market research.

Specifically, you should be looking for the wants/needs/desires of those in the reggae market. What are they asking for? What do they want? What are they willing to spend money on? Which reggae sites are the most popular and get sizable traffic? How are those sites monetizing the market? What "holes" or gaps are there in this market? Where do reggae music enthusiasts hang out online?

Once you have answered the questions above, you will have an understanding of the reggae market and you will know what types of things you might monetize - whether it's music itself, information about reggae, possibly a reggae community site, a newsletter, or whatever else the market shows interest in.

Research into the specific market is always so important . . . but most marketers skip this step and rely on personal intuition or "hunches" which are very often dead wrong. And hunches can cost you big money and a lot of wasted time.

Once you understand what the market wants, you can pretty easily "qualify" your marketing toward Brazil if you desire (although it might not be the best approach - your marketing will tell you).

      Good luck to you,
