Why people do giveaway

I asked an owner of a review and giveaway website how he earned money from this kind of website and he told me he didn't make money from it. Does anybody know if it's true? I think at least earn some money from adsense. What's the point to make this kind of website?

Thanks in advance.

He could have been using the site as an incentive site or a gateway site to his money site....or possible is just trying to grow a lead list to do future marketing to or resell the list, not sure without checking it out,

    Thanks

    Dear ,
Peoples give giveway right because they want to make a list.So next time when they launch a product its become easy to sell a product.Because they have a lot of peoples list and no need to work hard to capture customers.

Considering most people don't make any money from their sites he was probably telling the truth

But still the idea is to earn money i guess so.I mean why do they work hard for it,pay attention and time if they do not get anything.Let's admit marketers work online for money.

maybe he did it to get his name out there. or he strikes a jv deal with the people whose products are in the giveaway. then sells something to their list in the future... or maybe he just wants to flip the domain and sell it in the future... so many possibilities.

Giveaway helps to generate a list. Once you get your list, you will be able to make money with it in the future for promotion or good deals.

If you have signup for giveaway, you will know that they will capture your email for future promotion. Some giveaways have backend offers that may be irresistable. That way creates some income.

Giveaways are great for expanding your subscriber list. and yes, you do not make any money from the front end because you every is "free". However, you can milk the back ends with your expanded list..

The best thing about giveaways is that it is joint by many publishers.. in other words, leveraging on each other's list.

One tip on giveaways is that your giveaway product must really stand out... that would give you an advantage over all other list builders - Potential buyers only look for specific items they need to buy.. making your list a quality one.. but "freebie seekers" who literally dl everything.. is always a "freebie seeker"... well.. majority.. speaking from experience...

    hope this helps ^^

This very true. That's why having a huge opt in list is so vital.
I'm hoping to build my list through the giveaway that is in my sig.
If I get 50 subscribers, that 50 more then what I have.
When you join giveaways you promote and offer your OTO. If they buy great, if not, you have a chance later on with follow ups.

He's most likely funneling products on the backend. Give something away and draw them to products to purchase related to what he's giving away.

I would think a give away is for list building with OTO's added in to make some sales.

I dont actually do giveaways anymore but i have found that my items are being added by newbies to the events so im gaining viral traffic for doing nothing. I did them a while ago though and as long as you dont offer rubbish and get your item to stand out the results can be great.

    kind regards

Soundsa like he has the site just to build a list, then he will make his money from the list.

Giveaway events can be a great way to start building your list, and can add significant numbers to your overall subscribers if your participate in a few each month.

      Cheers,
      Paul
