Is it really possible?

Hi Guys,

Just wanted your input. I have spent 10hrs a day 7 days a week for the last two months trying the various methods to make money online, and so far it has cost me money and I haven't made a single penny! Can anyone tell me honestly with no BS if it really is possible to make any money? and does anyone really make enough to regard it as a full time income?
Just loosing the will here! Thanks guys.

    You stated

"I have spent 10hrs a day 7 days a week for the last two months trying the various methods to make money online"

Is your goal to make money? Or is your goal to make money a particular way like all these great push a button and make $9175 a day while sitting on a beach?

Because a bum off the street with a connection at the library could make money within a week if he spent 10 hours a day. Of course the problem would be he would actually be doing real work that people want to pay for. All around the internet people are posting for help for web related tasks and there are unlimited sites to advertise real services on, build up a reputation and make money.

People that fail online are generally buying all these courses that suggest you can make money with no knowledge because some "system" will do it all for them. That is a myth. Systems are put in place to streamline things and knowledge that are already working so you can scale them.

Good news is you are going through the same learning curve everyone goes through when they decide to make money online and find all these people selling them ways they can do it so it is not specifically you that is the issue, it is the misinformation you are following. I would encourage you to take a step back and see what value you can add to people that is worth them paying you money for and to continue to increase your skills so the value gets higher and higher.

If you are determined to be an affiliate marketer and the like ( I make 90% of my money generating leads and handling online marketing for real businesses ) it is doable but results are accelerated by knowledge and budget. If your hoping to make a living from a clickbank product and seo be prepared to spend a year getting good at it and having major fluctuations in your income every time google gets pms.

I noticed you said "trying various methods." You need to focus on one method and put all of your effort into that, or it's unlikely you'll find success.

It also depends on the competitiveness of your niche. If you picked something really competitive, it can take months and months of dedication before you start getting traffic and seeing a return.

Stick to one thing and don't be a dabbler.

I second that and I would add, put your wallet away.

Spend time going through this forum, when you learn something new here head over to you tube and learn some more about it there.

Save your money for investing in real tools and traffic so you can set up an offer/funnel that will pay you.

What you are currently doing is setting yourself up to fail.

For example you buy something and before you get it to work, you go off and buy something else, repeat, repeat.

This is draining your will, because you are constantly disappointed in you lack of results and you are seeing all this cash go out of your account.

May I ask the methods you specifically tried as well as the market you entered? If you relied on a very outdated system than it doesn't matter how much time you've spent on it, it will always fail. It's al about applying the right method and never giving up. So perhaps we can help you better if you tell us what you tried.

Sounds like it is all internal to me!

Lets just start with one thing. I suggest starting right from the beginning of working on building yourself a list and learning how to communicate with that list.

Process is very simple! We people over complicate things and make it hard. ok here we go:

Pick a market, niche and subniche! Step 1. Step 2 is to build yourself your own landing page giving away something of value. Now some might argue on this step but more than 90% of all the top marketers and people who actually do this stuff including myself works.

After you have your funnel build and always lead into a very similar low cost paid product to let your prospects know your in business and 2nd to help cover some time and advertising cost.

Step 3 is kind like posting on your social networks and that is to have a fine mix of material and email your list. Using an autoresponder system you can set this all up once and it just runs in the background for you except for a daily broadcast that takes like ten minutes to do. ;-)

The send traffic and optimize... rinse and repeat

Thats about it. Start there. in my opinion. It's the fastest, easiest and really holds the longest value in the sense that once you have that list your own it! It's your list. Be good to your list and your list will be good back.

If you find this useful and are still struggling or looking for other income streams go ahead and visit my signature file below and grab your free marketing funnel by me. We will work together to make it happen for you and get your first sale. Meaning.... Sign up with me and let me help you and I will not leave you high and dry.

    Ian,

If all it took to make money online was long hours spent, many more folks would be successful at this game. Washing machines work very hard ... but they go nowhere.

What you're failing to see is that you have to work smart. You have to do the right things, in the right way, at the right time. Chasing money is not the answer. Putting in long hours is not the right answer.

Do market research to identify buying demand. When you know and understand where the demand lies, then figure out how to satisfy that demand with your own paid product or service (or as an affiliate to some elses product or service).

Step in front of the demand and present your offer. Build a list of potential prospects and customers. Focus on helping them get what they want without you stressing about what you'll get in return. It' how business online is done.

Take care of your audience and see that you continually help them. They will reward you well for what you give them.

Of course, there is ton of money to be made in IM. Your one and only mistake is that you tried various method instead of just focusing on one particular method. Because if you work on 5 methods you don't have focus, you are not putting 100% in one method, you are putting 20% in each one. So just focus on one method that you think is best and read about it, invest money, test it, network with people who are successful in that area. I hope this helped.

Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate your help. It is good to know I'm not alone and there are people like you guys willing to give support. I take on board what you are all saying, I have been jumping from one thing to another. I'm not shy of hard work but will now focus on one thing and put my efforts into that. I am green at this and I can see there is a lot to learn and that will take time. Thanks again.

First of all, it's totally possible, but it doesn't really hit home for a lot of people until it happens to them. I get that. Two months also isn't that long. It took me 3 months to earn my first commission -- after I found something legitimate. I would suggest that you focus on one business model and focus on that instead of jumping around. For instance, if you like to write, you might want to get into Kindle or focus on becoming a ghostwriter.

If you're not THAT big into writing and want to do enough just to get by while generating residual income, you might want to think about niche blogging (review-site model, writing reviews & articles & getting ranked in the search engines & building a list). Once you have something up and running that's generating money, then you can consider another model.

is all about building trust and loyal to people that want to listen to you.(creditably) You can have all the knowledge in the world.

Nobody don't want what you have because u didn't build that foundation.. Hope that makes sense..

Education and Testing out certain aspects and learning as you go. You not going make it over night. I have 2 years on belt and I am still learning. trust your peers and trust yourself. Its long road ahead. You really want to success its take patience.. You one closer to your goal if you want it bad enough. I tell I almost gave up.. It takes a lot of your time and effort to establish yourself. I come realize that knowledge is good but people who had the experience that you are facing is priceless. now I feel like freaking commercial

NEVER STOP LEARNING!! Make mistakes long the way!!! That is part of process.

It's absolutely possible to make money online. But you need to have a business running. Without building a business you can't expect funds to flow. You need to learn how to run a business online. Research your niche then build a website, subscribe people to your mailing list and market to them. Learn a lot about promoting your website to bring people to your business.

You need to be careful in what you buy because there is a lot of BS on this forum.
I actually deal in physical goods which gives me a decent income. Perhaps you need to look at this line and forget about the other methods.
I still don't believe half of what is said in this forum. There are certain pieces of good informtion but a lot of it is rubbish. You have probably found that out by purchasing things that haven't really helped you.

Thanks for your input. Yes It's easy for a beginner to be overwhelmed buy all the claims, not just on the forums but youtube etc. As I said I've only been doing this for a couple of months but I'm beginning to see just how much BS there is, in fact probably 99% is BS. I wont give up and I don't mind working hard but it would be nice to have a little success, if you know what I mean. I would encourage you to keep going.

In my 30 years of online experience, ^^^^ this, the lack of results, is what gets many bogged down.

So, if you spent 10 hours a day, are you willing to spend 2 a day?

First 2 hours, sign up for mailchimp, dropbox and wix.

All free, they give you tools like autoresponder, web site and storage and hosting.

Next two hours, set up a personal page on wix (and if you have a web site already, then just skip this part) and put a FORM from mailchimp to capture email addresses.

Next two hours search google and bing for affiliate programs. Check out commission junction, jv zoo, and even here they have an affiliate program.

Some like clickbank, I don't use them anymore, I want my commission today, or as fast as I can get it.

So far, in fewer than 10 hours, you've set up a PLACE to put a promotion.
You have a way to START a list.
You have explored products for sale which pay you a commission.

Now choose ONE product to promote, and use their promotion to promote it.

You could do all this in ONE day of what you did to reach today's frustration. But take a few days.

This FREE method can be compared to using hand tools to build your profit center, but a look at some Amish work shows what can be done with hand tools. As soon as you have some money to invest, get your own site, some for only 2.95 a month. Then you can add aweber, getresponse, infusionsoft, constant contact, etc., as the POWERTOOLS to accelerate your biz.

If you can't cut a straight line with a hand saw, please don't use a power tool, you'll cut your hand off and bleed out.

That is like what you have been doing, inflicting yourself with pain.

        LEARN for free by DOING.

You need something to sell (product, service or knowledge),
        a Place to sell it,
        a promotion,
        a way to take money,
a way to deliver the product
then a family of related things to offer to your list.

So start over with a smarter PLAN, one which helps you set up the process of selling and gives you sequence, then you go about expanding your how to knowledge for each step in the sequence.

Good luck, and the faster results one gets, they faster they learn what doesn't work and what does.

        gjabiz

PS. The CHASE: set up a selling SEQUENCE. Once set up, you drive traffic (by as many ways as you can afford) to your sequence.

Some excellent practical advice here, so not much to add on that front.

I just thought I would add a concept that hopefully will help you.

When you say 'making money online' in my opinion there is NO difference to making money online to making money offline.

Of course there is practically - i.e you need a shop offline or a service etc... and you will have a website online but I am not talking about that.

I am talking about HOW it is done.

I used to work in a sales office offline.

Picture in your mind something like 'Boiler room' but not quite as full on as that.

I was top in the sales office.

Not blowing my own trumpet, (ok maybe a little ) but I didn't get to the top by being a better salesman - I got there by making more calls than anyone else, establishing more meetings with clients and working my ass off on the follow up.

I would push for a NO - if they didn't want the service, fine, but i would push for the NO and not leave the call or meeting thinking I could of done more.

I KNEW my service, inside, out, I KNEW what the good points were and the BAD points and I used to start with the BAD points - it made me sound different and the client thought "Hey, shouldn't you be trying to sell me this than telling me how bad it is?"

          I had a PROCESS.

I enjoyed my job and I had strict targets, set high, that most of the time I would smash.

The #1 thing that made me money is I KNEW what i was doing. I KNEW what i was selling and I KNEW it would benefit the client.

My point in all of this, and rather long winded so I apologize but I think it will help; is this:

"There is no SYSTEM you will find online or OFF that will make you money!"

          Not in my experience.

You just need an AWESOME service or product that GENUINELY solves a problem.

You need to know WHY people need it and WHY they should get it from you.

You need to show them RESULTS in advance, show them that you can HELP them, don't give them it ALL - you won't need too but show them you can HELP them.

Then learn to sell and close deals. Online or off.

If you want to make money online or off you need to know how to SELL.

You don't need to be the next Donald Trump but you DO need to know how to communicate and sell your products and services whether you are an affiliate or it is your own product.

So, my advice, ask yourself what you are selling?

What do you know about it?

Does it REALLY help the client?

and if not - spend your time finding something that will GENUINELY help your clients and something you enjoy selling.

          Just my 2 pence,

          Good Luck!

          Chris Jones

Yes It is possible. I understand the feeling of putting so much time but not making any penny. I cannot say much since you did not tell us what you have been doing in particular. But I will say this: Try and do everything possible to earn while you learn. Don't just learn. Also if you have a service you can provide, do that because that will bring in some dough at least to wet your pocket and encourage you to move on to earn big.

Yeah, I remember 15 yeas or so ago Bezos was lamblasted year after year after year for not making Amazon profitable.

It is something to see where he was and to see where he ended.

I do not think most entrepreneurs would have the same fortitude to stick it out like he did.

Focus on one method if you have brought any WSO's or other online courses. See if you do better and provide more value for the with the same system.

If you are good at writing than Kindle publishing is a good option, since it requires less initial investment and requires time to write and promote the books you publish. Here the key is research and the structure of the book.

  • The biggest mistake newbies make is trying various methods. Try one method until you make money. Be sure you're learning. More importantly patience, you're not gonna make money tomorrow if you don't know how or what you are doing. I usually just refer people to this video

He make's it very straight forward. However everybody is different. Some people like making money from websites, other like using PPC and other stuff.

I just posted this the other day talking about this same exact issue
    http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...-starting.html

Making money online is work, just like a normal job. You have a set of things you have to do "throughout" the day. Just like a job, you have one position. You can't be manager, CEO, associate and front desk assistant at the same time. So think of those various methods as being a different position. They each have a purpose that takes individual concentration. You will not make money until you know how to do your job.

Yes it's possible but I understand your frustration. I was in the same boat and you will find out a lot of make money courses only make money for the person that's selling them.

      What did I do?

I scrapped everything and started from scratch. The best thing you can do to prove to yourself that you can make money online is write an E-Book. I did this and it changed my world. Here's what I did.

I taught myself basic HTML and Java. With these skills you can build great websites to fit your needs. I bought HTML, Java and building websites for dummies. When I would need a line of code, I would just type into google what I was looking for and add HTML or Java and all kinds of online coding tutorials would be returned in my search.

I then found a niche subject I was interested in and I wrote the E-Book. With free and premium website templates, you can build some great websites. You just download the zip file, upload it into your control panel and play with the code until you get what you want.

I built a landing page for my E-Book and today you can go to places like Fiverr and get a solid E-Book cover for 5 bucks. You then draw traffic to your website and that's getting easier. Go to Craigslist, Backpages and message boards and blogs connected to the subject of your E-Book. When you really start converting, you can do paid ads on places like Facebook and Twitter.

It's then about conversion rates and I started off selling 1-2 books every 40 visitors. As you grow that conversion rate will get better and it's just a matter of checking your e-,mail and when someone buys your book e-mailing them the PDF.

I put out 2 more E-Books and I'm about to do a 3rd. My best month was $1,700 and it really is simple. Like I said, I just e-mail the PDF when I get a sale.

I built a website where I sold leads to local Real Estate investors. I made good money off of that that especially when the market was booming. So learn how to do basic HTML and Java it simply opens up the web for you and you can build websites for any business you think of.

In the end, my point is making money online isn't that hard. There's two extremes. One extreme tells you that you can make money by basically doing nothing but sipping drinks on a beach and that's false. There's the other extreme that tells you how hard it is to make money online and how you have to do all this work in order to make money. If it's that hard, you might as well keep your 9 to 5.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle and starting with E-Books has just been wonderful for me because it's enjoyable to right a book and doing research on something you already like to do. So that's my advice, start with an E-Book and learn how to do basic coding. Cancel out all the noise and just make money.
