Brad Fallon has bought Andy Jenkins' stake in StomperNet and Andy will be leaving the company. Here's the article I just posted for more details:

I wonder how this will effect the StomperNet seminar next month?

Wonder what happened to their partnership in StomperNet? Who knows... and I'm sure their will be a lot of rumors flying

Interesting article. I wonder why he would give up his stake in such a profitable business unless he is ready to retire and live the good life or something. Who knows.

My guess is that he didn't give up his stake but rather forced too because who would give up that pony... Who knows? I'm sure the rumor mill will certainly be churning over the next few weeks...

    Hi Guys,

I dont know why anyone thinks their is some
sort of hidden fallout or force out.

The best time to sell a business or sell your
half of a business is when its doing well. I dont
think there is anything wrong with a big cashout.

Its actually a very smart thing to do.

It will be interesting to see what they say about it, last year Andy backed off from the arbitrage conspiracy and so did a few of the other stompernet guys. Who knows, maybe he just cashed out at a good time like someone suggested and you know it would have been a good payday. Hope he doesn't dissappear, think he has helped a lot of people over the years in his business.

    Fallon is running this:

He probably got a nice chunk of change to cash out. Maybe he thinks the business has reached it's peak and it's time to move on - who knows. There are many reasons why partnerships end - both good and bad reasons. We can only speculate.

He can always start over because he still has his name and his relationships. However, I'm sure there will be some type of anti-competitive clause in the buy out agreement that will prevent him from building another StomperNet.

I do know and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what spectacular assumptions and conspiracies are flying around

    Nothing sinister. Just new directions.

It will not make any impact on Stomper Live 8 event. Things like this don't generally happen overnight and everything has been scheduled with changes in mind.

The relationship is strong and Andy + Stompernet will no doubt be working together on each others projects

      Andy -

      Hey, welcome to Southern California!

I used to live in San Diego and I know you'll really enjoy it. Their downtown has a lot of great restaurants and places to explore, and the weather in San Diego is quite awesome. You're right next to the water and they're also some great wine vineyards in Temecula which is like less than an hour away. Gee, I'm sounding like the San Diego tourist board...

Welcome again and hope you can stay awhile!

From the one Stompernet event I attended I came away very impressed with Andy Jenkins. There are a few people you come across in life and you look to them as the kind of people you aspire to be like and Andy is one of those people to me. I saw a man with integrity, heart and leadership guiding a mission to assemble the best minds in internet marketing into one place. I wish you all the best in what you do and know that whatever you do it will be successful and done with integrity. Thanks Andy!

That seemed to be the idea. I suppose some people don't realize that they were told early as a courtesy, and are more interested in "breaking the news" than being respectful. (just my opinion, of course )

It's great to hear stories like this - it means the IM marketplace is maturing. When you see companies changing leadership, principles cashing out and moving on to other projects, consolidations...that is the sign of a growing and healthy industry.

      My take anyway.

There have been tremendous efforts seen here to manipulate the truth on this forum recently. Such kind of acts will seriously impact the credibility of this forum and already are as people are already writing about it. These lies and the collusion to perpetuate mistruths and cover them up are nothing short of shocking. I'm very disappointed. The truth is out there and people may be sheep but not that stupid. Yes I know you will now ban me but that is fine. I cannot associate with this. Please, before it is too late, realize the damage you do to yourself. Mark, I'm not sure what tactics you're talking about from this forum, because I don't spend much time here. In general, SEO can be reduced to some fairly simple stuff, when it comes to what is done on the site itself.

The richer areas are in keyword strategy, managing the balance between conversion/usability and SEO considerations, and link building. Specialized issues like local search and location-aware SEO, how ecommerce merchants with large catalogs can leverage user-generated content to become unique and valuable vs. "me too" knockoffs. Lots to do.

Most of what I see touted as 'advanced' tactics all over the web are just hacks, designed to exploit real or perceived loopholes. Stuff like abusing Wordpress plugins, social media sites, and other structured content systems like software directories. Might "work" for those who don't have a long term investment in the sites they operate but not necessarily good for real businesses, or the web as a whole.

Real link building for the long term success of real businesses requires applied understanding of a lot of marketing principles that aren't always easy to teach to business owners.

SEO represents a small part of what Stompernet offers, but it's still a "sexy" topic that draws customers. I do think that StomperNet has to evolve beyond branding itself as "SEO" because it's very limiting, and forces decisions (like "how much black hat do you cover") that inevitably segment the market.

What drew me to StomperNet wasn't the SEO, it was all that other stuff - analytics, conversion, marketing strategies outside of search, etc. Either way, the decisions on what the brand means will be made by the new management team, not by me.

when I was putting together my last SEO product Dan Thies was kind enough to go over it with me in Atlanta. It turns out he and I see things almost exactly the same way!

I also had contributions from Brad Fallon and Jerry West who have great current techniques. (Stuff you will not read about here yet).

Stompernet as it 'was' has had excellent SEO faculty and as Dan mentioned there is more stuff under the hood.

Where they go next will certainly be different, I guess time will tell how effective it is.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1106475].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Jerry_West
I share Dan Thies' statements as I have no idea what SEO techniques are shared here in the Warrior Forum, but I too spent little time here. What I can verify is the 2.5 years Dan and I were in Stompernet together, we made it clear that SEO wasn't rocket science. It was simple. Leslie Rohde was the one who said it was rocket science. Which made sense, because Leslie IS a rocket scientist. The guy actually designed the algos for the military missle guidance systems.

The main reason people fail at SEO is they don't do it. Dan and I take the approach that SEO is easier than it was ten years ago despite the tons of new competitors. How? The fact that PPC is available to test keyword phrases before you waste your time with SEO. The tools available today make it ultra simple to know what you need to do in order to get a top ranking for keywords which will make you money.

And Dan's favorite line is "Whatever can be tested can be improved". The problem is, people stop improving and sit on their hands and wonder why their sites aren't performing well. This is marketing and it is a business and it takes work. Not hard work, that's digging ditches, but it takes work. The BIG RED BUTTON doesn't exist. :-)

As far as Stompernet goes, it was successful before I was a faculty member and it will be successful without me as a faculty member. I've known James Schramko for years and he's a great addition.
