Your top #3 (FREE) ways to promote your Youtube videos

I'm sure this topic has been heavily discussed in the past, but, times change, and so does the effectiveness of marketing methods. I'm curious, what would be the top #3 (FREE) ways that YOU use to promote your Youtube videos right now?

Here are some of mine:

1. Leaving a link response in the comment section of non-directly related youtube videos - this means posting a generally valuable comment with your video link on other videos that are not directly in competition with your niche, but are tightly linked together - for example, linking to a nutrition video on a video that talks about stress management. For me, this turns out to have the highest approval rate, since right now authors of youtube videos have to manually approve your "link comment" for it to appear in the comments section.

2. Youtube SEO - analyzing, targeting and optimizing for easy to rank, micro keywords and shooting a lot of high quality videos, and at the end of each video you recommend your other videos to keep the funnel flowing.

3. Getting in touch with other youtubers which are at your level (but preferrably also not your direct competition) and arranging for a cross promotion - this can be a very good thing, but it all depends on how good your communication skills are. This can also lead to a fruitful relationship in the future.

P.S - You can also recommend a course or ebooks that you consider to be very good, as long as it's not shameless self promotion.

I use Facebook groups, YouTube SEO and Google + communities for my "video and online business tips" channel.

I'm targeting a very specific group with those videos so I just go to where they hang out. Oh...and here on WF when I get the chance.

First Twitter and Google+, pure for the Search results.

After spread the video on Facebook.

Finally, add it to your blog, in forums and article websites with a little story.

Assuming you're just starting out and you don't have an established social media fan page, how would you use those platforms to promote your video?

You can promote your videos on Q&A sites like Quora. This has been proven to work pretty well. If your videos are high quality and can entertain, amaze people, you can also use social bookmarking sites such as Reddit. There are lots of case studies people have succeeded with social bookmarking sites.

The more video you upload, the better.

You can also look at those who have a lot of views to see what they are doing.

I have a youtube channel with more than 4 million views. I started with video submissions to other video directories. I would submit one video to some 30+ directories a week. I did this for 3 months. then i started embedding videos in web2.0 accounts that i created to promote my money sites - which i do till now. Lastly i started embedding videos in classifieds - wherever allowed. But the main reason i think my video channel took off was because the videos were attractive to the target audience. Engaging Content rules in video marketing.

One effective method to increase traffic to a youtube video is posting relevant comments in other videos - in related niches.

  • My top 3:

    1) Leverage social media

Post on a variety of social media networks, where I have a big following. If you don't already have a following then build that up first.

    2) Youtube SEO
Straight forward. Using Youtube SEO for organic traffic from Youtube

    3) Email list & Social Bookmarketing sites

Combination of all 3, because youtube became very tough to rank videos, you'll never know what's going to be the best to rank. Sometimes only few backlinks are enough but sometimes you will need to use SEO, Social Signals, etc.. To rank
