Why most people don't make money online ...

It's interesting how many concepts are so universal. The above shows the
progression of a chemical reaction and also the progress of making a
success of an online business.

You see even if you have all the ingredients for a reaction to take place,
if you don't have enough energy to get them over that "bump" (activation
energy) nothing happens. But just get over that bump and the reactions
continues on its own all the way to the finish products.

A lot of people give up because they have been climbing that first hill
(the activation energy) and cannot seem to reach the top. But if they
had stuck with it until they reached that point then "breakthrough" would
have been the results.

There comes a point when all those little daily efforts add up into the
activation energy and the miracle happens. That activation energy
comes in the form of just enough traffic, just the right conversion,
just the right connection, just the right timing, just the right profit
margin ...

If you don't stay at it long enough to get over that first bump then
you'll remain at the bottom of that first hill--even if you have the
correct ingredients.

How long IYO is long enough?
Is there a cutoff point or should people just carry-on in perpetuity?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

You'll notice that length of time is only one factor I mentioned.

There comes a point when all those little daily efforts add up into the
activation energy and the miracle happens. That activation energy
comes in the form of just enough traffic, just the right conversion,
just the right connection, just the right timing, just the right profit

      ...
But how long would depend on how big your goal is. How long did it
take for Amazon to turn a profit? For some people because they
don't have enough starting capital it takes longer because they
have to use, for example, free methods of traffic generation instead
      of buying traffic.

Another analogy: a rocket burns most of its energy getting off the launching
pad, but once it is in space very little is needed to circumvent the earth.

Simply sticking to doing something is not a recipe for success.

You have to continuously learn and apply what you learned.

Simply put, you have to experiment.

That's what creates breakthroughs not just mere persistence.

Constantly tweaking your activities to produce better results is what separates PROGRESS from merely banging your head against the wall.

What you're saying is true. However, over the past four years here the typical length of time I see people stick with something is THREE DAYS.

Three days! And then Shiny Object Syndrome takes over and they go chase something else.

How can anyone develop skill or expertise in a process, technique, or methodology if they don't spend longer than a few days at it?

There's another factor here, which I explain in this post. Growth is exponential, not linear...and this misconception creates disappointment in the minds of newbies when things don't take off as fast as they imagine.

  • You need s good recipe for sure, and a good plan is important.

But no matter how perfect it seems, THERE ARE glom to be struggles and hurdles.

You need to stay at it long enough to see the results

People don't make money online because:

They don't believe that they can succeed.
They don't learn how to effectively market their business
They work with the wrong affiliate programs. (They spend more then they earn)

In order to be successful you have to make a serious mindset shift. Stop trying to make fast riches and understand that starting an online business is like learning a new instrument or practicing a new sport. When you start out you're going to suck and you're going be confused and lost, but over time you will begin to develop your skills and before you know it you will actually get good at what you do.

The same thing goes for starting an online business. The great thing about starting an online business, is that if you commit to the process of learning and applying what you learn, eventually you will start making money, and if you keep at it you will start making a lot of money.

Also glad to see some familiar names still around.
