Site and content transfer from Hostgator to GoDaddy

How do I transfer my sites (with all my content) from Hostgater to GoDaddy?

    I'll agree with Alexa. I am looking to move my GoDaddy sites to hostgator, but have been postponing it because its just too much work.

    If you're using just plain HTML sites, just copy them all down to your local drive using FTP, add your domains to the GoDaddy hosting/upsell control panel and then FTP them up to the GoDaddy to the appropriate locations.

    If you're using any kind of PHP script like WordPress, Joomla or something else, DON'T DO IT. You're just asking for headaches you don't need trying to run these sites on GoDaddy.

    Why would anyone want to move from a site with more features, more bandwidth, more space, unlimited domains on one hosting, incredible support to Godaddy, who offers none of that? Just asking.

      Building on what others have said here, if you were moving from Godaddy to Hostgator and not the other way around...my answer would be to call Hostgator support. They would either walk you through it, or actually do the transfer for you (depending on the type of site). (At least they did that when I first started with them).

      No, that's what I meant. Not because I want to but I got a great deal on some autoblog software for using the developers affiliate link in GD. I suppose I'll just swallow the 2 payments for now.
