What are some good ways to undertaand the market and their buying behaviours??

Hi;

Can you please give me some advice on these?

1 - What does the market want? I assume forums are the best way to find this out, right?

2 - What is the best way to test what the market responds to without having to spend too much money?

Thanks

Yahoo Answers, forums, BuzzSumo, "Keyword Researcher" the program.

You'll get plenty of ideas from those 4.

Other than that, get involved and actually do what you're writing about. Pick up one of the products or something. Just to help you understand a little about what makes the user tick.

Hello and a pleasure to answer your question. the market of the web and great and very powerful. I always recommend not to think that there may be simple because gains and a lie. Some things are learned by taking a step at a time. After years of courses, studies now I think I have a solution very professional.

Honestly the best way is for trial and error. You'll definitely find information in forums, but that will only serve as a general guide on which direction to head.

Your question on what the market wants is really general, are you looking for a specific niche to target or perhaps knowledge on how to reach out to a group within a chosen niche.

Google keyword planner can help to a certain extent to tell you how popular a topic is, which will let you know if an intended niche is viable or not. Apart from that, just read up plenty of articles and posts to find out what problems these people are facing that can be solved by you.

The "market" and their "buying behaviors"...??

I am amazed that people just think others are sitting out there waiting to spend money with you.

How about learning how to do things and offer something of value, offer things you "know" about rather than trying to squeeze into some niche that doesn't even relate to you?

A general question begets a general answer...

The very best way to understand the market and their buying behaviors is to first figure out who "the market" is and then watch what they buy, how they buy it and from who they buy what they buy.

As John stated, go where your market goes, watch them like a hawk , engage honestly with them without trying to sell anything just be useful and helpful to them, then once you understand your market you will know what to sell, how to sell it and where to sell it.

Also once you know where your market hangs out, use Alexa and similar tools to find out what sites they come from and what sites the leave to.

Use Adwords Keyword tool to track the general interest in specific topics. In addition to that, set up a squeeze page with a buy button and run an add to it. Make sure to have analytics on that page to track how many people click "buy."

Even if you just send them to a page that says, "Sorry we are out of stock. Submit your email to be updated on when we have inventory," at least you will know your conversion rate. And you might get some email addresses of people that are definitely interested.

Here are some ways that you can figure out the answer to your question:

    - Do a google search
    - Join email lists in the niche
    - Join blogs
    - Become a member of forums in that niche
    - Read the sales letters of the sales pages of products being sold
    - Subscribe to an offline magazine in that niche (if possible)
    - Buy competitors' products and play customer

The best sales books talk about the thoughts that go into buying process. Get into the bookstore and read on sales.

As for testing, it will cost you money if you don't already have traffic...there's no way around that.
By analyzing it before hand, though, you shouldn't have to test to get a good idea.
