hey warriors!

I need some help please. I am planning on launching an affiliate website/blog and feel like I have ran into a snag here and am not really sure what direction I should be pursuing so I need some help?

I signed up on this forum in late December 2014, I think? so I am still pretty new to all this, but have been learning a ton so far just from hanging out here everyday.

Here is what I have done so far:

- got hosting, have a domain name in mind that I plan on purchasing, have a WP theme I plan on buying
- pre-written 6 posts in microsoft word that have anywhere from 500-1700 words each post
- created an ebook that I will give away for free in exchange for email address ( I have never built an email list before so this will be a first)
- been actively participating in one forum and on 2 sub reddits in my niche to get to know my market and lend advice / participate

Here is my problem

I plan on using the Amazon Affiliate program since I am already approved from another failed site that I was experimenting with. I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what my market potentially needs, wants, and have problems with.

The problem that I am having is that there is such a huge and wide range of products that I could offer that would help my market, but at the end of the day, it all is really going to boil down to their own personal preference and what they can afford. It is dam near impossible to suggest and write a review on every single product in this niche.

I have thought about going back into my posts and sprinkling in some affiliate links in my posts, but the problem with that is that I think it would make my post feel really un-natural and too salesy because I have written these posts without selling any products in mind and to just provide the best content I could that would help my target audience. Also, if I were to go this route, there are too many products and such a huge variety, that it would be difficult to fit it all in a blog post.

I have also thought about asking my list (once I do build one) what their preferences are and what they can afford and then suggesting a product to cator towards that on a one on one, email baisis. Is this a bad idea? I can see this potentially being unmanageable and sucking out all of my time if I were to build a large list.

I also thought about creating links in my autoresponder emails that would link to a landing page where I would write reviews on certain products that would link to Amazon, but again, there are a lot of products and a huge variety in different price ranges that will mostly be based on my market's personal preference and affordability.

What I am leaning towards, because I don't want to seem too pushy or salesy (espeically with this niche - it is not a MMO niche by the way) is to leave my blog post the way they are (rich in helpful content) and have pictures of a few products that I reccommend that would link to Amazon on the sidebars. If I were to do this, would I tell my email list in my autoresponder series to go to X blog post and click on the product picture on the sidebar?

I am totally confused on what direction I should be going towards from here? I have taken the advice I have gathered on this forum and created the best content I can with helping my target audience in mind. But now I am at the point where I want to start thinking about how I am going to write my emails and make money with my email list before I launch my site and setup an autoresponder and have absolutely no idea what I am doing?

Thank you all for providing such great advice throughout this forum because it has gotten me this far so far, which to most of you might not seem like a big deal, but I had no idea what the hell affiliate marketing, hosting, or wordpress was a few months ago. LOL

I am open to any and all suggestions and it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

think of your site as a resource. hire someone (if you want) to write all of the reviews. Be sure you educate yourself on the market and the products so that you can make corrections to any review.

Aim to be the number 1 resource for that markets products. The entire goal for an amazon site is just to get someone to click on 'a' affiliate link. Just provide helpful information on the niche and have all the products posted. Don't spam up the site will products.

Just create a very well organized product review site. Business comes with risk, it's part of MMO. If one project fails, look at it, learn from it and move on. Don't over think it.

Just make a bad ass website.

Please note that in-text affiliate links work best. Visit amazon and select the related products with higher ratings. I suggest to select product with "Prime" tag because they are shipped by Amazon.com within 2-3 days. People love fast shipping.

When you will refer good quality products your readers they will not mind it and will not think that you are pushing them.

At the end of your post you can write a heading like "Related Products That I Like". Under this section give images and some description of amazon products with your referral link. It will work and people will love it too :-)

Would you mind explaining what In-text affiliate links are?

Thanks for the suggestion on the "Related Products That I Like." at the end of the post. That is a great idea that I have not thought about. I will try this.
