Advice in advertising a very unique/niche website

Hello Warriors! I have a rather unique/niche website I amtrying to advertise. The website inquestion is a Star Wars roleplaying forum. To those that don't know what this is, roleplaying sites are essentiallywhere writers come together and create stories through their own characters(hence the role play). My intention isn'tany kind of monetization, I simply just want to get as many people as possibleto join the forum. So I guess my targetaudience is those that like to write stories, roleplayers and starwarsfans.

So far I've consideredadvertising on other similar forums, facebook pages/groups, other starwarsblogs/websites. Other than that I'mpretty stuck.

Any advice appreciated <3

    Here are 8 solid strategies.

-1- Populate your forum with some initial content with the
help of friends or associates who have same interests.

-2- Maintain a REGULAR SCHEDULE of blog comments on
blogs that center on your forum's theme.

The link in the website slot when you make a comment
should lead to your forum. (Make sure ALL COMMENTS
    add value).

-3- Build your Twitter followers DAILY (keyword and
    hashtag search function on Twitter).

-4- Open an account with every one of these social bookmarking sites:

-5- Create a LINK BAIT post that is highly controversial centered
around your forum's focus after you have completed steps1-4.

-6- Promote your link bait content throughout all social media
    and PROMOTE your Twitter profile

-7- Tweet EVERY HALF HOUR with your link bait piece appearing
once every 4 hours. Maintain this for at least one month. Do not
just tweet your own content, but include retweets of your
followers content and any other valuable info that is relevant.

Especially, include contrary opinions, posts and tweets.

    WOW! This could go VIRAL!

-8- Use photos or images in every tweet and include Please ReTweet

    Best of success,

    Robert

I don't think clickbait would work for this niche. Essentially I would probably bring in the wrong sort of people to the forum and put off genuine users. But in general your comments have been very helpful, thank you!

If it's, as you say, a very unique niche, then getting ranked on Google shouldn't be much trouble. Even though I recommend doing this for all sites you build, focusing on on-site SEO could be particularly useful here.

Here is an additional strategy to at least bring quality content to
    your forum.

Monitor Amazon for NEWLY published books that are highly
    relevant to your forum niche.

Contact the authors (sometimes you will have to go though
    their publishers.)

Ask if they would be interested in contributing an article
to a highly motivated audience (your forum members).

Promote the article through SEO and you will attract a
fresh set of targeted traffic to the forum url where the
    article is published.

This technique can be used over and over again with
multiple authors. The MORE MEMBERS your forum has,
    the more powerful the technique.

    Best of success.
