Website Recommendations Needed

I'm trying to promote my editing/proofreading business and am starting at square one. I'm hoping some warrior can offer assistance. In exchange, I'll be happy to edit/proofread your written content.

I'm seeking advice on who to use to build my website. I would like to use a provider that produces quality work, at a reasonable rate, with an eye toward SEO considerations.

There are so many website design and development companies to choose from. So, I need advice based on firsthand experience.

I don't want to pay much, but I also realize that you get what you pay for. So, direction in this area would be much appreciated.

    Install wordpress
    Buy a nice theme from ThemeForest

    I would go with Yahoo Webhosting. The service is awesome and they're there for you 24/7. Plus they give you marketing tools to boost your site's traffic and sales. And has alot of "up to the minute" updates and tips on how to do better. They *do* have SSL - but it's shared. Free Wordpress blog. Plus they have very good site designer tools.

    Yes, I do agree with most of the members. Buy your domain from godaddy in $0.99 for first year. Get hosting from hostgator at $4/mo. Install Wordpress CMS for free. Browse themeforest or other template websites and buy some responsive WP theme (normal price around 35-50 USD).

    Then you can hire some Progammer/designer from odesk.com to do optional custom changes to your theme to make it ready to publish. Around $50-$100 fee.

    I agree, your own domain and hosting with wordpress. Though I would NOT get it from hostgator, their service is not what it use to be, not even close.

    Many hosting services have one-click install of wordpress, so it's not that difficult. Installing a theme is pretty easy and using wordpress is simple. You should try to do it yourself, so your not dependent on other people, so your business is not in the hands or control of someone else.

    If your not technical and need a fast way to set it up, I would recommend Weebly, Wix, Jimdo, Yola, Webflow.

    For a non-programmer they offer lots of options that will be more than sufficient for what you need if you only want to create an online presence.
