Facebook Fan Page Question

Hello, everyone. I want to start using Facebook fan pages as part of my overall promotional strategy (late to social media stuff as I'm not a big user) when I create an upcoming campaign. It's for a niche outside of "make money online" and is apparently standard practice in this niche. Here are my questions:

When you create a Facebook fan page, can it be seen by your friends and family? If so, is there a way to make it where my friends and family can't see the page? While it's nothing bad, I would prefer to keep my IM stuff separate from friends and family stuff.

    There is no way to do that. Facebook fan pages are always public.

    Facebook Groups can be set invisible, but then no one can see them (unless invited)

    If you're asking whether facebook announces to your friends that you've created a page - the answer is no. Page owners are not displayed anywhere, as far as I know.

    You can "ban" users if you want to block them individually. You can also set your privacy settings that allows you to target your audience on a per post basis. Hope this helps some...
