I want to build product review sites based on Amazon;

amazon has over 200 million products.

Your question is way to vague. There are people that will tell you electronics, but I would never do an electronics site for various reasons. Some will tell you baby stuff, and baby stuff is truly profitable, but are you interested in those products enough to keep adding content and products.

Just go to amazon and look around and see if any categories interest you.

I think it's a mistake to build sites around products. Instead, we've built our site around a specific type of customer, customers who have needs that can't be met by simply going to Amazon directly and searching through a specific product category.

For instance, if you wanted to choose a basketball-themed site, you could create a website that reviews 10 different basketballs. But how does this help anyone? Your users can already go to Amazon, search for basketballs, sort their results by their ratings and read hundreds of reviews -- most of which will probably be better than anything you'll write. If you're lucky you'll get a small amount of search engine traffic and a few sales. But few -- if any -- people will ever return to your site so you'll always be trying to find new customers. That's a hard way to build a business!

Alternatively, you could choose a class of consumers -- perhaps, adult men who play pick-up basketball -- and tailor a website around that. Sure you'd include a few basketballs on your site (though probably fewer than with the other model since these players are going to be looking for specific types of basketballs), but you'd also have other things on your site: shoes, shirts, water bottles or whatever else they might need. You'd probably also have other interesting content on your site that would be very much tailored to your customer base. And hopefully your site will be done well enough that when someone buys a basketball from you, they'd think of you first when they wanted to buy some basketball shoes. And hopefully they'd tell their friends too.

Obviously, I'm not suggesting you create a site for people who play basketball -- that's just an example I made up since I've been following the NBA playoffs. What I am suggesting is you think about different types of customers who might not be well served in the marketplace. Amazon doesn't have a category called "Adult Pick-Up Basketball Players" but there are likely even better customers that you can target in a similar way. The point is to start with a hole in the marketplace, a consumer need, not just to pick a bunch of products, regurgitate some reviews and pray that you actually get some traffic.

I suggest going for more expensive items. They don't have to be in the thousands of dollars, but the hundreds is good. The commission numbers are small so selling $10 or $20 items will take thousands to make a decent profit. Go with the more expensive items and at least you'll at least be making a few dollars off each sale.

The products you promote depend on what niche market you're in (i.e. toys, electronics, gaming, gardening, golf, etc.) Once you decide on what niche you want to work in, then, you can go about finding products to promote. For instance, the health/fitness is a hugely-profitable niche market. Insanity by Shaun T. was the most-popular exercise program of 2014. As a result, there are tons of keywords you can use to promote this.

I forgot to mention that you can cross promote related products in order to boost your commissions. The cool thing about Amazon is that it actually tells you the related products people purchased. Another cool thing about Amazon is that there is a built-in trust factor. As an Amazon shopper, I know that I only go there is I am going to buy something.

Hmmm... I strongly doubt that people would share any good item or niche here... because it is VERY competitive on Amazon.

    I recommend:
    Fashion/Clothes/Watches/Jewelry
    Baby Products
    Sports Related Products

Your amazon website should be made of product reviews+information rich articles. For example you can write an article about "10 Tips to Find the Best Baby Gear". This is an information based article. In this article you can add your own recommended products from Amazon with images. Promote products with prices like $50-$150 to get good commissions per sale.

You want to do some niche research first. Be careful though. Amazon is coming down hard on anyone doing what it thinks are fake reviews.

Choose a niche where people are buying both physical and info products in.

Create an authority site and build a list.

Write reviews for top products in the niche and also create your own info products in the niche.

get traffic via ppc, seo and social media sites.

thats a solid long term business plan.

      Cheers

      Define fakes reviews please.

I would guess this to be actual reviews posted on Amazon, where as any product reviews on your own review type site, are nothing more than you expressing your opinion on the product?
