    It really depends

    It can either bring lots of traffic, or it can be a huge waste of time.
    Like everything else in marketing it takes time to master the skill of ''guest posting''

    Depends what your goal is. If you have a website, it will send a moderately targeted traffic group that will fizzle within days.

    If you have a blog, and solid content, the person will follow you, and share your stuff.

    The question is: do you have everything in place to build your following?

    The phrase "guest posting" has been blacklisted by Google and the search engine now penalizes sites that post content on guest blogs just for backlinks. So the quality of your article will determine if it's a good or a bad idea.

    If you are posting on authority sites with unique insights that Google wouldn't see as common, then it's a good idea.

    If you are posting a basic guide that can be found on 500 other sites, it's a bad idea.

    It depends.

    Look, if you have a chance to write something for a blog in your niche, or a highly respected niche site that's similar to yours (as an example, I own a wine business, so travel is related since I do actually, go to wine country for a living) it can help rankings.

    Any system for guest posting that allows you to automate, or see a list of blogs accepting posts etc is going to get crushed. Google has been EXTREMELY clear, they hate MBG and other similar setups. One to one communication though can still bring in an attractive set of links, even given the amount of work required.

    Guest posting rules have changed.So please refer to the Matt Cutts blog before spending on it. It's not dead but its now a bit tricky. Totally depends on why you want to guest post though.

    The answer is controversial. It depends on a few things:

    1) If you manage to create a list of a good authority having websites - your article is more likely to be read and followed by your inserted link. However, posting on a good quality websites requires lots of time and effort, because only the best texts appear to be published there.

    2) If you are not capable of writing quality texts and posting them only on a low priority websites - this might be a total waste of time, which could be used for other activities increasing the traffic to your website.

    Links from guest posting will help with your overall site authority and, more importantly, increase your overall long-tail traffic. And in my opinion, that is more valuable than ranking for head terms as I belive 80%+ of your traffic should be coming from long-tail keywords.

    Depends on whos the guest writer is.. If the writer have credibility on that niche and have authority blog it will bring traffic to your website.

    You can do guest blogging for the purpose of getting traffic from another website and it is allowed by Google (with NoFollow link to your website). But if you want to do it to create backlinks to your website (Do Follow Links) then it may hurt your ranking.

    Guest posting is always beneficial from the website which offers same service like you did. Guest postings from non relevant website is waste of time and its more like a spam indeed. guest posting is one of the best way to get back links and share our brand to be popularized.
