Any worthy plagiarism detectors besides CopyScape?

I hear that CopyScape is the best plagiarism detector online, but my credit card company will not let me make a purchase from a company outside the U.S. I could pay through PalPal, but you have to purchase a minimum of 200 searches if you pay that way. I only need to do a few searches at this time so I can't justify paying $10 for a few searches. You also have to use those 200 searches within the next 12 months which would be impossible for me.

So I'm wondering are there any other good plagiarism detectors out there?

    I use this one.

    Plagiarism Checker

It seems to be fairly accurate, but there is a limit to daily use.

    Thank you.

That's weird though, I ran an article through it and it said my article was 95% unique. There were 3 sentences that it said already existed on the web. But, I just had this article written for me at Iwriter. I thought they run the articles through CopyScape before they give them to you?

Also, when you click on the sentences in red that say Existing, it does a google search for those sentences in quotes so that you can see where online they already exist. Yet 2 of the 3 sentences that it told me already existed - Google says there are no results found for them. So I'm not sure why it says they already exist. What's up with that?

The sentences were similar enough to trip the spam threshold, which is not something to be overly concerned about. For example, if I wanted to talk here about a particular sports car, the only way I could accurately describe it is by saying its a "Cobalt Blue 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500." That exact phrase is on thousands of websites so that entire sentence gets marked as possible plagiarism...even though it's really not.

Yeah, but if the 2 sentences exist on other websites then why does Google say there is no results found for them when it does a search of them in quotes?

It's not the entire sentence, it's a string of 3-5 words within the sentence. Your plagiarism scan wasn't set up to detect just small phrases though; it looks at full sentences. So it tells you the entire sentence is bad, even though it's only detecting part of it.

Here's yet another example- "The 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 Fastback is made entirely from gingerbread cookies, recycled cardboard and magical fairy dust that was gathered in outer space."

Check that sentence in your plagiarism checker. It should flag it, because the car name is exactly like you'd find on lots of other sites. So even though my complete sentence is original, the software will tell you to manually check for yourself to make sure since a few words are commonly used together.

I don't know how else to explain it any clearer.

No, that makes sense. Thank you for clarifying that.
