The more read into CPA marketing, the more convinced LP is one of the main keys to succeed. But then some issues here for a newbie like me. Dunno Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML or CSS.

Hence to kick start the process, will just create one in Photoshop and link it to the offer's page. To start learning the features in Photoshop relevant to LP, will probably take an existing LP and try to build the same copy from scratch.

Let's see how it goes.....
#css #html #jquery #landing page #photoshop

After much fiddling in Photoshop and Googling, finally managed to sort of duplicate 2 LP from scratch. Clearly, the practice is not sufficient. Nevertheless, have a good idea now how to get the basic stuff in PS done.

Next will get feet wet by learning some HTML and CSS. The plan is to attain sufficient knowledge to be able to edit existing LP template in HTML and CSS.

You don't need to learn photoshop, html or any programming languages to create a high converting landing pages.

There are software out there that can make you LP by just doing drag and drop method. A few that I recommend is Leadpages, Profit Builder, Optimize Pro, Megaphone, Thrive Content Builder.

If you need logo or banner created, you can go to fiverr and hire someone for just $5.

I am a web developer and programmer but I still use those programs because It save me more time and it lets me focus more on what really matters, split testing, driving traffic and making the campaign profitable.

I do not know the stuff too, I don't even use software to do LP. All I use is the old school Microsoft FrontPage 2003. OMG.. that was like so outdated. But it still works for me..
My SP can have up to 50% opt-in rate for MMO when test with SoloAds. So I guess, it is still ok to use it now.

    Cheers

Hey guys, thanks for the kind advice and helping hand. Will definitely safe keep the list of sites recommended and explore them.

Agree should 'outsource' and focus on what really matters. Hence not going deep on HTML but rather on an appreciative level. Turned out that the process is rather enjoyable as one online HTML tutorial makes it pretty simple and interesting to follow through :^)

After much muddling through from online tutorial, finally at a stage able to roughly understand the HTML and CSS behind a landing page and to do some simple tweaking where necessary.

Originally, the plan from here is to have a basic understanding of how scripts work. However, considering it involves several like Javascripts, PHP, etc, not sure how to proceed from here given that each seem like a complex subject on its own.....

Did a quick overview of JavaScript since this seem to be the main programming language used with HTML. Was done thru an online tutorial and now at least has a rough idea how a script looks like and its syntax. Finally able to incorporate some sample scripts into a LP. Now in the process of tying up a few loose ends on this topic.

As mentioned earlier, was picking up HTML and this was initially done using Windows Notepad. It works fine except that dunno how a HTML editor would make the experience different. Thus downloaded a free editor and it definitely has its selling point

Plunged the head into Jquery since much has been said about its usefulness in LP. Though theoretically seem simple, its practical use in LP is quite another. Just trying to replicate some of the existing scripts is a challenge.

As not making much headway, no choice but to revisit it at a later date.

Not sure understand you correctly. Assuming you came across a LP template you like very much, theoretically, it is possible to open it in Windows notepad and paste the contents into your website (which is also opened in notepad).

Of course, in real life it is probably more complex and one would need some understanding of HTML and CSS to combine a LP into a website. Clearly, not the best person to comment on this since new.

Hi, sorry for that. To avoid any misunderstanding to any others, LP means landing page.

IMO, every marketer who doesn't have the budget to pay for a proper web designer (eg. not Fiverr) should learn basic HTML/CSS...

Most LP builders aren't particularly good, and if you ever need to create a LP that works great on both mobile and desktop (which is vital these days if you can't choose/direct your traffic).. you're out of luck making something look decent.

Oh, and remember.. It's estimated that you lose 6% of traffic per second of page load time. Some shoddy LP running from WP is always going to be slower loading than a well designed static HTML LP.. This starts to matter A LOT when you've got a larger amount of traffic hitting your page, it's not uncommon for WP to grind to a halt when even the slightest touch of "real" traffic hits it..

    Just my 2c..

    Cheers,
    Michael

If you hit 'Save as...' or right click and hit 'Save page as...' or something along the lines, you'll get the whole landing page, CSS, HTML files, and images.

It's a good way to learn. Hack up a good one on your own, then fix it again.

That's not really true but can be a common myth amongst some of those just getting started.

Buying traffic to convert on direct response is tough no matter which way you spin it. If it was easy, the merchant wouldn't even be messing with affiliates (for the most part).

While a landing page can give you an advantage to further pre-sell the user, it's not going to magically turn a terrible campaign around. You need to make sure whatever the offer is you're promoting is solid and a "known converter."

Most of the CPA networks out there hype up stuff that's no good but make their money on the 80/20 rule. 80% of their profits come from 20% of their offers. 20% of these offers are being promoted by 20% of their affiliates.

So first, have a good offer. Once you have a good offer, play around with making multiple landing pages to increase your overall bottom line.

Bro, thanks for the kind advice! Will definitely heed your advice a solid and known converter is of utmost importance. This was echo recently by a prominent affiliate as well. Coincidentally, he believes deeply in the 80/20 rule as well

Will spend more time in selecting offers :^)

Google and find landing pages of other people. Pick few of them. Hire someone from fiver or odesk to create one for you. Don't waste time on learning designing. Focus on learning marketing skill.

    Good luck

Thanks for pointing out on marketing! This is what trying to work on now. Seem like to earn even a cent/dime, needs one to think out of the box and not follow the rest. Since topic on marketing does not really fit into the subject title of this thread, will probably start a new thread on it.

Was reading on spy tools. Or to put it in a better light, research tools.

    Cons:
    1. Clearly, they do not come cheap.
    2. Some will also see it as shady esp if were to copy the same offer and duplicate it to the same LP and targets.

    Pros:
    1. Seem to give insights into what the lucrative offers are.
    2. Of course, can always ask AM for the top converting offers. In such cases, one could research on the offer recommended by AM. From the LP and targets, one could then draw some inspirations in the angles to use.
    3. Besides, can also have insight as which ad network converts a particular offer best.
    4. If the offer is multi geo, can also have insights as to which country should be targeted first.
    5. For more experienced affiliates, if a unique angle is successful in 1 traffic source, perhaps it could also be adapted to a different traffic source.

Overall, putting cost aside, looks compelling to have such a tool in the arsenal. After all, companies also conduct competitor analysis. And which armed forces in the world don't have an intelligence unit? Even governments have CIA too.
