Warriors, I am one who has always believed knowledge is power. At the same time, i hear a lot of people talking about things, products, systems, Tactic's that are unfair. What so many continually fail to realize, you have to make a decision, are you using tactics or strategies? Tactic- A method or technique to attain an immediate goal Strategy- A defined and detailed plan of multiple tactics to attain a long term goal Here are some thoughts, many of us consistently use tactic's but no strategy when it comes to marketing and building our business. We focus on the shiny object that gives us immediate gratification, when in fact what we need to be focusing on is the long term strategy that will give us the biggest homerun. Seo- A tactic, however when used correctly over a long term period of time with multiple sites creates a massive strategy for huge profits. When your dealing with customers or clients, theres a big difference, a customer buys 1-5 times a client becomes a lifelong relationship. You have too start thinking about tactic's to attract customers, with a strategy to convert them to clients. Take wso's for example. There are some warriors, who no matter what they put out, we flock to them like a herd of lemmings and BUY !! We buy because we are clients, clients who know whatever product that warrior has put out will be a homerun. There are a few warriors on here that i buy every WSO they put out, rarely read the ad copy, i dont look at the price, i buy. I know the vaue they put out will be priceless. The forum gets so conditioned to buying things DIRT CHEAP we forget the true Internal Value of products we buy here. I am a huge fan, i buy 200-300.00 a week worth of WSO's for my offline business. The information in priceless, and i find myself many times realizing i would have spent 10x that amount for the same info if i didnt know about the forum here. As we are out building our business, i highly reccomend that you sit down for 1-6 hours and look at your OVERALL STRATEGY not your tactical plan. Start implementing tactics and strategys, that allow for a long term Client acquistion and realtionship. I have some offline clients i have been working with for 15 years plus. They call when they need anything, the same clients i have had too my home for dinner, barbecues, vacations, and now they are good friends. So my question to you... are you using tactic's or strategy? Share your thoughts here, and lets help each other out by driving this thread to china with input for each other. I love this forum, and thank everyone who post's, young, old, new or veteran, we all learn from each other, and hears another chance. What is your favorite Tactic? What is your Long Term Strategy? NOW IS THE TIME TO BUILD YOUR PERSONAL LEGACY !!!!!!!!!! Regards, Robert Nelson "The Maverick Motivator" |

My strategy: I write quality content on my blog that delivers targeted traffic from search engines. My best short term tactic: Posting relevant and helpful comments on related blogs to mine. This gives me links back to my blog and higher rankings in the engines. |

If you can answer that question, then apply a Plethora of Tactic's you have a Man-handling strategy for lots of cash. Thanks for the post Regards, Robert Nelson "The Maverick Motivator" | |

I'm guilty of using Both. I don't see how you can decide which tactics are appropriate without some sort of strategy in place as a reference? Your strategy is your context and your tactics are the content - without a context they lose their meaning. Andy p.s. My strategy is to create a passion-filled life helping others and creating financial abundance. My tactics include creating Internet based revenue from many activities and making money from travel and teaching. |

Hmmm... that IS a thought provoker Robert. Suppose you are running a number of PPC campaigns to drive traffic to a site or blog where you have ebooks to sell. Look, that can work and people who are good at it have made fortunes. But I'd call that a tactical approach to selling--the day you quite running ads your traffic and sales come to s screeching halt. Some would argue that the above scenario is not building a business, but building an income. List building, on the other hand, is more of what I would call a strategy. Sure, there may be tactical operations involved in it, but while building your list may produce an immediate income, it also represents a long-term asset which does not etheriorate the day you stop building it. I look at income from something like PPC as a return on an investment. I view list building not as a return, but as the principal--that which produces a return. Build your list and as your principal (subscriber base) grows, so does your return. Robert, you're making me thing too much (thank you) and getting me all fluxed up into this psychogenic fugue state which is unsettling (thank you again). I need time to process all of this --Mike

lol, as i am coaching students offline, and coaching business owners both, i continually keep running into the thought process that is always tactical, NO strategy in any way shape or form. The focus is always on the immediate dollar and not on the Truckload of Gold bullion. My strategy offline is simple. Build a very rock soldid self sustaining business through products and coaching for students. Having rock solid students, i can then, send my clients to them for a piece of the pie, with the longevity in mind, of selling my consulting company in 3 years for 2 million plus. In the mean time, i am using multiple tactics to generate the long term strategy. Getting Kick Ass accounting, legal, and banking in place through a team of advisors, make this job a lot simpler. Tactic, put together a High Power Team, that can represent the brand, thereby making the exit strategy of a sale attractive, as the advisement team can go with the business. Hope that gives you some insight into my strategies. Regards, Robert Nelson "The Maverick Motivator" Quote:
if cannot be both..lol , its either a tactic or a strategy. either way, thanks for the post. Regards, Robert Nelson "The Maverick Motivator" Quote:
Mike, Outstanding thoughts, and glad i could provoke the process for you. You have hit the nail on the head in a few areas. I commented earlier that so many focus on the tactic of making a dollar now or ROI as you put it. When in reality we do need to make money as we go, but so many more people could make MILLIONS of dollars more by incorporating a Massive Strategy that implemented mulitiple tactics to achieve the long term strategy. My challenge too you, sit down for 1-3 hours, devise a couple of very long Term Strategys, 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, then reverse engineer them with tactics, and see where you end up at. I can only surmise if you do this, the income you will generate over the next 1-5 years will 3X what it would be if you don't. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for taking the time to post for all.
