I've produced a set of a dozen 20-minute (plus) videos and am pondering the best way to deliver them to my customers.
Which of these methods is preferable in your opinion (and why)? 1. Password protected web page (or pages). The downside here is the bandwidth, I guess. 2. Similar to the above, but inside a membership site. Same potential bandwidth issue. 3. Offer a physical product - via Kunaki perhaps? 4. A zipped download that users can play on their own browser from their own hard drive. At the moment I'm leaning towards #4, but am not sure how best to wrap them all up as a product. Are there any software solutions available that would make life easier? I should add that the videos are all created on Camtasia and are in .swf format with each one being roughly 8-10 Mb in size. Thanks, Martin |

Hey Martin,
You have a couple of options. 1 and 2 can work the same. Best bet is to check into AS3 (Amazon) for delivery of your videos. The cost is very reasonable and offset by your sales. To me, 3 is a value added option where the buyer could pay more to have it on DVD and shipped to them. A zipped download is good, provided you zip the files up individually. They are large files. The big thing seems to be protecting your videos for being distributed all over the 'net once they are purchased. Once the buyer has them, anything is possible. What I am starting to see is having them in a membership area and elivered through AS3. This safeguards against downloading and allows the buyer to view them at their convenience. My delivery method of choice is the Rapid Action Profits Membership package. Of course, it's what I work with exclusively, so I may be a bit biased. ![]() Hope this helps. Thanks, John |

Hmmm what is your actual sales process/marketing funnel?
I went through some of Russell Brunsons Micro-Continuity material recently and that model looks like it could work quite well for this. Here is a basic outline below: Squeeze -> Free Cd + S & H OTO -> Membership -> Upsales So get them with a squeeze page. Then do a a free + shipping one time offer (OTO) on one of your dozen discs (or you could create a new video) and send that to them via Kunaki. Once they sign up for free they are automatically enrolled into your membership program and then you can email them once a week with your other videos. The best place to host would be AS3 (Amazon) as mentioned in the post above. |

Hi John,
Good and useful comments, thanks. I have RAP and the membership package, so I suppose I'd better dig out the manuals and install it someplace! ![]() Thanks again. Martin |

Hello Martin,
One bonus of 'online' videos rather than zipped or physical videos is that it's easy to build a picture of which videos get watched (or not) from simple stat tracking. Why would this be important?... Well, you may (for example) find that a high number of customers watch only, say, the first 6 - in which case you might decide to change how the course gets delivered (e.g a volume I & a volume II). Though as John says, offering a physical version as an upsell would be a great option too - especially if it included some extra, tempting, bonus material not found in the download version ![]() One extra thing: in terms of bandwidth, you may find you can maintain the video quality while reducing the file size by using something other than the swf format (e.g as an mp4 compressed with H.264, which Camtasia 5+ will do easily). And following on from that, offering a lower (good) quality downloadable version and a higher (DVD) quality version as a physical product is another way you might add to a premium version upsell. Best, Adam PS... Quote:
