Help with Pricing for JVZoo

So, I have just started looking at using jvzoo as a seller (at the suggestion of one of our affiliates here on warrior forums)

My question is this: is there an average or maximum price for products being sold through jvzoo?

Is there a price-range that affiliates prefer?

The reason I am asking is because I am very new to the affiliate marketing. Normally our products sell starting at $249. However, I get the impression that in the world of affiliate marketing $97 is the magic number and I've never seen anything priced higher than that.

To be clear, what we are selling is pretty unique. It's not a course or info product. We create original software and websites and have developed a streaming TV platform that we've been working to productize. Only offering this background info in case it might help inform a reply.

Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to some schooling

The prices for products sold on JVZoo vary a lot, depending on the product.

The 'sweet spot' for IM products is often lower, with higher upsells following the initial offer.

If the product is good, and the sales page is good, then you have a good chance of hitting a higher price point

    All the best

In fact it looks like prices of products in the jvzoo marketplace in the Video Marketing Niche are WAY less than that ($5 - $7). There is no way I can go that low. Should I forget it or do you think there is some affiliates that would be excited to market a higher-ticket product (which means more earnings per sale for them too)?

Thanks Trevor. Even though I've been making a living selling online for 10 years, I am new to the anatomy of a sales page (the way that internet marketers do it) so that will definitely be a challenge for me!

      You're welcome

You can definitely sell for higher price points on JVZoo.

But at the end of the day, once the initial launch is over, and the affiliates have had their go, for ongoing business you need a quality product that is value for money, and a good sales page that converts, and preferably a good funnel with upsells & downsells.

      All the best

Personally I've sold products on JVZoo up to $997.

An associate of mine sells a product up to $1997 on JVZoo.

Approval for this will depend on... well..... approval.

I don't know the exact criteria, or if anyone can be approved for higher amounts,
but my guess it's based on reputation, sales, etc.

I think the current auto approval is only $50 but I could be wrong.

It's not just about the price, but also the commission, some may also only go for recurring commissions as opposed to a one time earning.

Depends on what universe you live in. There are obviously other niches and prices that affiliates promote where $97 is not any kind of standard I've ever heard of. Where did you get that impression?

So short version, what you may consider a higher ticket item, is a lower ticket item for others. Just put up your product, and see if you can get it approved.

P.S. Not everyone sell courses and info products.

Thanks for sharing about your own experience! I was not aware of the approval limits so that will certainly be something to consider when first starting out.

As far as funnels, upsells, downsells, etc... this is where my head starts spinning. But, I'm committed to figuring this all out!
