Hi warriors, I'm in the process of improving subscription rate on my site. Currently i have close to thousands on unique visitors for this month, but very less subscribers. I heard that using pop-up can increase the subscription rate and i want to try this technique on my site. Would you suggest and tell where can i get the free script of pop-up? Or if you know, can you tell me what script/code required? Thanks in advance |

I have heard this stated too but I really really really hate popups; my browser is set to block them. I am not aware of a recent (this is important as pop up blocking technology is now built in to or is available for all modern browsers) study that actually confirms this. If it were me, I would examine why the page converts so badly and fix that instead. You should do this anyway even if you do go for a pop up solution. |

Coding in a lightbox is pretty unstoppable. It is not a true popup, but also not as obtrusive.

Pop ups work. Whether you personally like them or not is totally irrelevant. When you are a marketer, think like a marketer - and if you are a marketer, even when you are a customer, think like a marketer. Blocking popups (although you probably aren't blocking the clever marketers' ones) loses you some great opportunities to see what is working. Martin |

Pop-ups can really help sometimes to increase the traffic. I wanted to apply such method as well but got scrambled up in the script/ code. I got some code by giving search for free code.

CliveG, I'm not really like pop-up as well..but never hate them. I appreciate it as an effort by marketer (i'm marketer too ). In fact, not using pop-up is one of the findings why the page converts so badly.Martin.Avis, Good tips there. Thanks! mikeyMan120, Thanks for suggestion. But, it's too costly for this one. Thanks again for all feedbacks. |

I suppose pop-ups help catch the attention of the customers. It's very annoying however. I personally just hate getting pop-ups on a web, although I'd probably want to use it too in the future. |

There are several freeware lightbox popup packages listed on this page: wareseeker . com / free-lightbox/ I can't recommend them since I haven't used them, but definitely check them out . . . I imagine at least one of the freebies will do what you want. As others have suggested, you might want to look at improving the subscription rate even without the popup . . . Are you sending people to your home/main page (which advertises your product/service rather than emphasizing your opt-in form) from paid advertising? If so, consider sending those people to a page which has emphasis on the opt-in. Good luck! Paul == |

If you have a Wordpress blog (self hosted) you can use a plugin called Actionpopup.

You should take a look at hovclick.com. It's an unblockable popup maker. You design your popups, and then generate code to place under your closing body tag. Pretty easy and best part is it's free. Have others here tried it? Quote:
