VSL vs Static Sales Page?

Okay Warriors...

Is is still pretty much a given that, in general, a VSL will do a much better in conversions versus old school static sales page?

And if so, is there a good product/service that can help me do just that?

Thanks for any and all enlightenment...

    .
It is not a given. The conversions come from the copy and content, not from the format it is presented in. A great static page will convert much better than a crappy VSL any time

A great VSL converts always better compared to a great static sales letter. Check the top selling products on JVZoo, ClickBank and so on, all they have VSL.

One of my OTO's had a Static sales letter for around 24 hours, as the video wasn't ready at the time of launching. Results: 24% conv rate static - 53% conv rate vid.

Facts speak for themselves. Is is worth it? For me definitely yes.

And Al, A working car, no matter what it is, is always better than a broken Ferrari! But that's not the case here

This is not an accurate comparison. You have to run one against the other
(at the same time--split test). Maybe the traffic improved after the 24 hrs.
The video may have made a difference, just that you can't use this example
        to prove it.

I would listen to Ray when it comes to testing. You might even try text and video together. Plus, it all comes down to the offer and the way you price the product.

If you have the money - I would get a copy critique or consult with somebody who has experience with video sales letters before you actually launch.

Just ONE small improvement can make a huge difference to your conversion rate - so I would definitely get more help before you launch.

You must TEST....you won't know unless you test the variations for whatever you're selling.

And I second what @agmccall said.

You really have to test regardless of what results others may be having. Your particular market, or your specific product, may for some reason convert better with a static sales page instead of a VSL. That said, most marketers who have made the switch from static pages to VSL have reported large leaps in conversions. However both require some skill to be done properly.

VSL crushes Static right now assuming both have equally strong copy...

However, there are certain markets (like older markets) that a static page MIGHT do better... Crazy I know but it happens...

And the best software/training/anything for a VSL is Jon Benson's Sellerator. He invented VSLs, so that's good

He also has a formula for a Static Sales Page that is converting like crazy (Old School New Body)...

    Check it out.

I still get great results with my static sales page, and squeeze page. For simplicity, i would stick with a static sales page. People will tell you and give you results about both methods. At the end of the day... it's all about simplicity. You have to imagine a computer user with the worst and slowest internet connection ever. I'm talking 56k speed. Would you want this person to wait 30 minutes before your VSL loads... or 15 seconds for your static page loads?
