For The Marketer Who Is Failing...

Let's take a trip down memory lane....

You're a newbie entering the exciting world of Internet Marketing. You have high hopes. You are ready to go. All fired up.

You start with the main internet marketing discussion section of this forum, followed by a quick look at the WSO section.
There ya' go: shiny object syndrome has got its hands on you.

You stay away from the more expensive products, since you don't want to spend too much $ when first starting out.
Your hard drive is soon packed with piles of crap and an occasional golden nugget. Then it hits you:

Now what? You're at a crossroad.

You try to keep up with the latest techniques. You try out new methods. You buy the more expensive products now, because you believe they must be worth it.

You sit behind a computer and you work your ass off. You're motivated. You believe!

The rollercoaster ride you are on is nothing compared the promise of making thousands of dollars. The guarantees are solid and refunds are your backup.

You relate to those that struggle and get pissed at those who seem to have a hand of turning everything into cold hard cash.

You turn your back on your hopes and dreams for a while, only to come back to this forum and give it one more try.
Maybe this time it will all be different....

Guess what? The bad apples are still here. So are the exceptional experts that ARE willing to advice you. The WSO section hasn't changed either.

So...How are you going to succeed?
Got a plan? Found a new approach to doing business? Do you have a different mindset now?

Look, I can't tell you how to succeed. No one can. That's the honest to God truth. There are too many factors that come into play to be making bold promises like that.

I'm not getting into the discussion of the definition of success. It's different for everyone.
You know what you want and you should go and get it!

Got burned? Grab a band aid and move on.
Got stabbed in the back? Stop the bleeding and sell the knife.
Got scammed? Lesson learned. You are now laser sharp.
Got pushed around? Buy some boxing gloves.

The point is, it aint over 'til the fat lady sings. In other words....
THE ONLY WAY YOU'RE FAILING IS IF YOU DECIDE TO GIVE UP!

We ALL have our bruises. We all have scars and you know what?
It's what makes you stronger. They are a constant reminder of you hitting the ground and getting back up. These scars are your way to success and MAN! Do you look sexy!

Let me ask you this...if you are on the floor. Face down.Covered in mud. Do you think you could fall any harder? You already hit the ground! There's no way you can hurt yourself even more. The only way...is up.

We all carry scars from previous battles in our work and life, but we don't stop moving forward because of them.
Heroes feel fear but move forward anyway.
Scars are damn sexy and the more you have the hotter you are. Remember that!

Get your act together. Set yourself up with a solid plan of action and.... go kick some ass!

Natasja

    I can't agree more

The only way to fail is to GIVE UP

However, there are many ways of GIVING UP

    They aren't all obvious

One VERY COMMON way is to KEEP TRYING but STOP LISTENING AND LEARNING

    This is worse than quitting

    Why?

You keep wasting your time and you end up with the same result

The name of the game is TO KEEP AT IT BUT.... YOU NEED TO LEARN and IMPROVE YOUR GAME

    Otherwise, it's a total waste

One of the bests posts to read, insightful and brutally honest!

No other way around success, the best way out of a problem (in this case sales leading and marketing) is through the problem, not around or cutting corners.

All those mistakes should be made once maybe, so one learns, works for me at least, and I'm sure for many more too.

This emotional roller-coaster is keen to many kinds of human endeavors, but life itself like this anyway, so why not live it in the pursue of a passion or dream?

      Thanks for sharing!

      This is spot on.

The moment you keep a closed mind, the moment you choose not to learn from an experience, or apply a new skill, that is when you truly fail.

Too many people who fall to Shiny Object Sydrome are lured in by amazing awesome promises to income and wealth online, then when it doesn't happen in the first 24 hours, they request an object and move onto the next Shiny Object. This is failure.

Take what you learn on this forum, there is literally enough information to save you THOUSANDS in advertising, help you build a super targeted list of buyers as an asset, and learn from ACTUAL gurus and experts in the field...for FREE.

IMPROVEMENT and PROGRESS is the name of the game, and if you don't acknowledge this you've doomed yourself to a life with chronic S.O.S. (Shiny Object Syndrome)

        Hi,

I just couldn't agree more, people have to see that this is a business, to be successful start implementing, start taking action, learn from the mistakes during this path. You have to always believe in yourself, overcoming yourself.

        Thanks for this

I'm not sure if I 100% agree with that, since you a closed mind CAN get you stuck but it doesn't necessarily mean you WILL fail.--->The moment you keep a closed mind, the moment you choose not to learn from an experience, or apply a new skill, that is when you truly fail.

I do agree with this for a solid 1000%--->IMPROVEMENT and PROGRESS is the name of the game, and if you don't acknowledge this you've doomed yourself to a life with chronic S.O.S. (Shiny Object Syndrome)

I would say, start with solo ads that are sent to high-coverting CPA offers. The best solo ads can be bought at Udimi.com. The system tracks everything and you get to review the sellers, so scammers have no chance of hiding bad reviews. The Best CPA offers can be found on Offervault.com. You can view offers from all the cpa networks and sort by payout etc. I usually type 'business opportunity' into the offervault search bar and hit 'search'. Once the results appear, I sort by 'payout' and look for the highest paying email submit offers. I then apply with the affiliate network running the offer. Once I'm approved, I send solo ads to my affiliate link. That's it. Give it a shot, folks. It works.

Sorry to break this to you but starting with solo ads is an EXPENSIVE way to fail.

Lots of solo ad sellers are scammers.

It's much better to get the art of CONVERSIONS down before looking at PAID traffic options.

    Great post!

A lot of newbie internet marketers don't that they are about to enter a completely different world. It is a whole different ballgame on this side of t'e fence and your character is constantly tested, especially in the beginning stages.

    You are tested on your

Guts/Balls-Are you brave enough to take the leap of faith and work your ass off without guarantee of success in the end?

Patience Are you willing to spend the long ours in front of your laptop doing even after your day job and work for months and months with little reward but faith?

Sacrifice- Are you willing to sacrifice watching television, going out to get drunk, and hanging out with your friends for days and nights?

There are ways to make it online but for the most part that is what it is going to take to make it. Otherwise you will be swallowed up in the online jungle like so many other marketers.

  • Great post and very inspiring.

The post is spot-on! There is no easy way or shortcuts to becoming a successful internet marketer. For newbies, expect that there will be more problems than solutions. But giving up is not an option. Problems and failures are not a way to give up. Instead, use them to improve and challenge yourself that you can do it.

Nice post. For me, I started out with shiny object syndrome about 17 years ago and after that all failed miserably, I had actually quit internet marketing for a long time and picked it up a few times when I would see YouTube videos of something that was actually making money for somebody else. One guy would show his commission checks that he was receiving every month and even though they were only a couple hundred dollars, they would usually get bigger for him with each video that he made. I tried my hand with this company for a little while and was only able to make a few sales with it because I was actually using traffic exchanges at the time. After having this failure, I quit marketing again for a few years and it wasn't until I saw the power of blogging with adsense, amazon, clickbank. cpa's, ebooks, hosting, etc. that I begin to really put my heart back into what this could become with a lot of hard work and some dedication. Now I'm starting to get the ball rolling and have only been doing this for about 6 months.

I told this story of mine to point out the fact that you can almost guarantee that you are going to fail the first few times that you try to make money online and especially if you think it is going to be quick or easy. The best ways that I have ever found to make money online include getting loyal followers that are willing to share your content and to build up your ranks in Google by continuing to add content over a period of time. You can never fail unless you give up but having the right methods is the only real way to succeed as well. Hope this can help somebody and best of luck

It all comes down to redefining failure. You WIll encounter roadblocks. You WILL feel frustrated at one point. You will pull some hair out occasionally and...no... this forum doesn't have all the answers.
As soon as you combine it with Google, Youtube and start connecting with like minded marketers though.....you really got something.
Keep pushing forward. Think outside the box. Get pissed.

    You have two choices:
    * You can quit and will be left empty handed.
    * You don't ........and still have a chance to succeed.

This post reminds me of one of the best books I ever read which is "Think & Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Everyone here should own a copy of this book. He explains through real life examples of businessmen who got what they wanted by sticking to their plans.

Anyone who is starting out will face a lot of challenges and obstacles. When you do face them, you can do 2 things.

    1. You can quit.

    2. Or you can learn from each setback and then have an effective plan in place to move forward.

One of the things you can do when you start is to write down your WHY. Why did you start in the first place. Don't write down something like:

I want to make lot of money.

You want to sit down and write something that will inspire you.

Maybe you want to quit your job. Maybe you want to be able to earn enough to buy a new car. Maybe you want to become your own boss and have no boss to answer to. What ever your WHY is, you need to know what it is and write it down.

When you have this and have a burning desire to succeed, no setback or obstacle will keep you down. You will succeed.
