Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hi there,

So I'm working on making money in CPA.

I've done ALOT of reading, and for the last week I've started to take action.

I've picked Facebook marketing to start because I know it. It's probably not the most cost effective but right now I just want to get involved and make money (even if i don't make profit) so I can learn by doing.

I've created some instapage landing pages, some tab landing pages inside my fanpages and some cloacked direct links to the offers.

Most of the offers I've chosen are email submits, or 1 page sumbits with a couple of trail offers (pay for shipping)

I'm not expecting MASSIVE results, but I feel I'm missing something because I've managed to get 350 clicks to the offers and 4 results. I have an EPC of $0.02 and I can't see how I can ever manage to make any money on those stats.

Anybody got any advice? I'm planning for the longer game as in SEO on some sites, but unless it's the biggest conspiracy on the planet, I'm sure I should be able to make some cash using PPC,FB etc and CPA.

I am also doing similar stuff as you.. imho, sometime, I think it is about the offer conversion rate. If the visitor who clicked your ads, he or she should already be aware of what he is looking for. Your ads needs to be targeted at visitors who are ready to get more information and not those who are started only looking around.

    Cheers

Either the offer is bad or as Jackson said above you aren't targeting the right audience on Facebook. You need to know the exact profile of the average person that would fill out the email submit.

    Look into these, OP:

    1. Offers.
    2. Targeting.
    3. Pre-selling.

There are literally hundreds of variables to consider. Your aim now show be to examine your system and look for each little thing contributing to the weak EPC.

As the others have said you need to look at all the components. It is also worth considering how or where you expect to make money in the proces.

Yes you can make money on a direct add and click through to a CPA offer however stop and think, if it worked all the time and that straight forward, why would the advertiser (of the offer) not just do it direct themselves.

Think about the pre sell opportunity but also consider what you can do on the way through. Have a landing page from the ad that could be used to do one or all of the following:
1 - capture email details to allow to email (and make money through further offers) at a later date
2 - presell the offer so the person knows exactly what is needed on the next page almost by auto pilot
3 - consider other ads or offers on your page, you need to balance this because you don't want to lose them from the offer you are advertising however still good to catch them with another offer if they are otherwise looking to leave

If you share some more details on what you are trying we can help further.

    Good luck

I'll second what sogeshirts said. Either the CPA offer is not converting, or the audience is not targeted. People won't just give away their email for something they don't desperately need. Try a similar CPA offer and see how it converts.

content, content, content! get some great content on your pages and start blogging. Have a look at what your competitors are doing and find ways of doing it better, for example, writing your own review for the offers your publishing. This is a long term game to earn search engine traffic but will benefit you in the long run.

I would suggest using AdWords if you are going down the paid advertising route. With Facebook you can target who you want to see your ad but at the end of the day you are still forcing them to view your ad. With AdWords people are searching for what you have to offer so you are more likely to increase conversions.

All of your marketing can only be as good as it's weakest link. Is your audience tightly targeted? Are your FB ads appealing? Is the headline on your landing page speaking loudly and directly to your target audience? Is your body sales copy addressing their concerns? Is the product your offering solving their burning problem? Testing and tweaking is the name of the game...

    350 clicks and 4 results

Your offers are in front of the wrong crowd.

Narrow down your target audience to match what your offer is.

The guys/gals making big money on Facebook with direct CPA offers are most of the time doing something shady (such as cloaking or using uncompliant landing pages). Back when Facebook first introduced paid advertising it was possible to get 1 page submits profitable, but nowadays those advertisers/networks scrub so hard on them, they're very tough to get profitable with direct paid traffic.

I would highly suggest just going the "long term" route first. Spend time and build out your sites, monetize them with CPA/CPM/CPC offers, and then use paid Facebook traffic to send to your own site. This will save you a TON of trouble from bans and everything else that goes along with direct CPA marketing.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Re-check your audience and your targeted interests go for the deeper ones, also add a retargeting campaingn, avoid ad blindness as well.

    Target the right countries

    Reverse engineer your competition's ads

Also, KEEP AT IT. 350 clicks is NOT enough.

Complain once you've reached a statistically significal threshold like 3000 clicks.
