Under keyword research within MS you can begin with a root keyword (Ex. weight loss for that niche) and select various rules that will give you more long tail keyword results such as SEOT (SEO Traffic) where you can limit it to searches that are not huge - say less than 200 (per day), look at competition and adwords numbers to pick those keywords that have less competition as well as how many words in the phrase you want returned - ex. using 4 means you will get some quite long-tail results such as weight loss diet nutrition...as one example.

Thanks Jeff,

Ill have to familiarise myself with this tool. I just want to ensure that I use it to its full potential. Up until this point I have been relying solely on the Google KWT, which has been great, however I need to progress my keyword research to the next level (long tail)

You can also change the word count to only bring back groups of 3 words or more. Make sure you change the "match" it brings back from broad to exact after it has analyzed all the data you've asked it for. If not, you'll get keywords like "how to ex back" that will claim to get 2000 searches a day.

I am also having a hard time with the long tail keywords. They don’t seem to work for me. How to get a match and I fear that it will lead to something else. I am not confident that, it would be perfect hit every time.

I've always felt that this has been a bit of a 'limitation' to MS. But I've found a way to discover a ton of great niche keywords - many that are hairly long tail keywords!

Check out this post on the warrior forum - http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-keywords.html.

MS might not be the best for brainstorming and "finding" keywords, but its great for analysis.
