What is a self-liquidating backlinks strategy? Why is it better than a normal backlink strategy?

Could not find a clear definition on Google or the Warriorforum.

Sounds like a stupid term that somebody just made up.

Never heard of it. And now that I have, someone is either trying to sound important or making it way more complicated than it really is.

Self-liquidating is a marketing term that essentially means to offer a product/service right when the intended target comes into some money. For example, a corporation signs a huge contract with Sony worth $3.1 billion dollars, so lots of B2B companies are going to reach out to that company to pitch them products that can help fulfill needs (more computers, new software, etc.).

A self-liquidating backlink would be a link placed where people have disposable money and looking to spend it on something, although they really don't know what yet. An example would be a sponsored ad on Amazon for certain searches.

So are self-liquidating backlinks better? It depends on your goal of the backlink. If it's to encourage quick sales then yes, but you'll also pay a premium for the link and it may not be financially viable. So it's not like you can build an entire strategy around it unless you're going a heavy PPC route.
