Freelance platform template

This might be a strange question but I wil try to explain as best I can. Everyone here is familiar with freelancing websites where you can get gigs to do for money or perhaps you can post something you need done, like Fiverr and Freelancer.com and so forth. Now my question is wether anyone here knows of a template that can be applied to a domian to create platform like this of your own. Kind of like wordpress with blogs. Thank you very much

You can also check out script marketplaces like hotscripts for existing freelance platform scripts.

Prepare to spend time and money customizing it though.

I'd stay away from WP-based systems.

Why stay away from Wordpress based systems?

If your concern is security, then wordpress is a pretty secure CMS. A good developer developing a theme with standards from the start that allows for seamless core updates can tackle virtually any security issue.

On the contrary, most developers when developing a standalone system may not do a good job hardening their systems and leave multiple security loopholes open.

WP is a brilliant CMS. I think what icoachu meant is that for this purpose you should look for a custom solution or a web framework. Everything out of its original purpose can make you pull your hair pretty fast.

I like Drupal a lot. While you will have a much steeper learning curve it will be easier to implement in the end.

There are lots and lots of web frameworks that could pull the thing. Django, Ruby on Rails, Pyramid, just to name a few. Keep in mind that you are not looking for content publishing.

Again, Wordpress is fantastic, but I also would refrain from it for this purpose.
