I need to know how to take a customized guess who board game for custom images and have a factory bulk produce them for me. How would I go about this?

    Hey Ace!

    Great name!

The best way to create you board game product is to first do market research in you niche. You have to ask yourself these questions, Like, Whats hot in this niche? What do most people like about this niche?, And how can I create a product that tailor's to these criteria and that my customers will love!

As you know that you are in the board game niche this should be very easy for you!

So the best way to do this

    1. Go on Amazon.com

    2. Look for information products about guess who board games

    3. Research and find out what is hot, what makes certain board better sellers than others.

    4. Once you have done your research find out how you are going to deliver your content audio, video,PDF,software?

5.Decided if you will outsource most or some of your content

    6. In the product development stage if you are new then best thing to do is to outsource the content yourself rather than do all the work/

Once the product is completed . it is all about marketing and making sure your product gets in the hands of the right people!

    Hope that helps

Great info, thank you! Now guess who is a registered / licensed game. If I wanted to create a game with the same exact concept but different characters, I would assume that I need licensing from that company. So like monopoly and star wars monopoly for example.

Now you may be looking at a lawsuit. You need to consult a lawyer. Some aspects of a game are naturally not protectable, but others are. I would start at looking at what is protected on the box i.e. trademark, copyrights, salesmark, etc. In general, ideas are not copyrightable (concepts) only the "manner" in which they are expressed. Additionally, a judge would look at how similar the game is and the effect of that similarity in potentially confusing the buying public.

In any case, anyone can threaten and commence a lawsuit against you. Sometimes they can win. So do the smart thing: consult a lawyer and be ready!

You've misread everything he's said so far and sent him in the exact opposite direction he's seeking. He clearly asked about licensing, which means that he would pay a percentage in exchange for permission to use the product- that's perfectly legal and done all the time. Like he said, Star Wars Monopoly (owned by Disney and Mattel) is a good example.

For the original poster, there are thousands of manufacturers out there that can take your concept and customize it however you wish. It is a painful process however, and you'll have to be very specific about your needs to ensure that you find the right fit. The only way to know for sure is to get looking, so start doing your homework and line up some meetings to tour the facilities and negotiate terms.

You have options... things like inventing items or going into dropshiping/ecommerce or using Kickstarter to build something. Research is your friend at this point. You want to find a method that you can both stick to, follow and achieve the goals you hope to.

    Best of luck.

PS. Board games can be invented too.
