Brain freeze.....advice on how to safely store 20 large download files for sale

Hi

I am going to be running a WSO where I will be selling 20 large files (approx 50mb each) as one offer.

I have not done this before and not sure how to go about it. I know that I will have to create a page where each of the files will have their own individual link.

Is there a safe(ish) place I can make these files available?

Many thanks

Joe

How safe do you want it?

We are only talking about 1gb of data. There is no reason most hosting shouldn't be able to accommodate that. But if you don't want to do it yourself...

... and if you are not concerned about password protection and are ok with just using unique (and hard to figure-out) links, then you could go with a free dropbox or google drive account (or something similar).

I actually found this to be one of the challenges when I was doing my course, since I was offering video training.

Amazon S3 is extremely affordable for storing videos on. (Run them through Handbrake, first before uploading, as otherwise, S3 is very slow on playback.) I used Media Maestro to play and protect the content.

Now, if I read correctly, you simply want to offer secure downloads. wp21century.com seems to offer a wordpress pluging that integrates with S3 to offer secure downloads.

You can also just store it on your site and password protect the page (if doing wordpress).

Open an account with Dropbox, store the files there and supply purchasers with a download link. The setup is very intuitive and easy to follow.

I suggest you ZIP each file first to make the downloads quicker for purchasers.

I use Dropbox all the time in the course of my work to exchange files. I don't know how I could manage without it. Some of the other file storage programs seem to add "stuff" to files before they are downloaded, but Dropbox doesn't do this.

        HI

THANK YOU very much for taking the reply everybody. I really appreciate it as it is causing me a dilemma.

I did think about drop box as being an option but this is my dilemma:

For my WSO instead of attaching all of the files in the download link created by the Warrior forum which would be too much for it to hold I was going to include a pdf with the links to the downloads.

My fear is that it could be shared and go viral very easily and to be honest I need every sale I can get at the moment to take my business to the next level which includes getting a membership site which I am hoping the WSO will eventually fund.

Now, if I read correctly, you simply want to offer secure downloads. wp21century.com seems to offer a wordpress pluging that integrates with S3 to offer secure downloads.

You can also just store it on your site and password protect the page (if doing wordpress).
The above option definitely seems like a viable suggestion ands I will look into it. Thanks very much

You can't password protect a file with a pop-up access box when using Amazon S3 but you can still set permissions: Amazon S3 ACL - How to share Amazon S3 buckets, edit ACLs and make files publicly available

You could set up an SSL folder on your directory, place all the 50mb downloads there, and then hide it behind a "membership access page" (where they have to enter their name and password to login and gain access to your products).
